24/11/2003 17:55 | MM`s willing to pay more for UNG shares usually means they will have an order to fill. I would expect to see an announcement in the near future. I am a little confused to why a share offer at this time if someone is interested in a big slice of UNG. | dealit
24/11/2003 13:12 | ticking up again today ... something else must be going on | maut too
21/11/2003 17:04 | I am glad to say I got it wrong did not expect a rise of 20% on the week | dealit
15/11/2003 07:07 | IMHO the rights issue would seem to be a positive move. The draw back is that in the short term the share price will fall back to the levels of the offer price. I will will take up the rights issue because I do feel that UNG are on the right track and have growth potential medium to long term. | dealit

14/11/2003 11:31 | I'm trying to figure out why some people are selling in view of the positive trading update. Surely a rights issue will only serve to provide shareholders with an opportunity to accumulate on the cheap! | diamondal
14/11/2003 07:50 | AFX-Focus) 2003-11-14 07:35 GMT: Universe to raise 3.4 mln stg via 3-for-8 rights issue at 21.5p LONDON (AFX) - Universe Group PLC, said it is raising 3.4 mln stg by way of a 3-for-8 Rights Issue at 21.5 pence per share, as it gave an upbeat assessment of future prospects. The net proceeds of the rights issue will be used to provide resources for the further development of the business and working capital for the group. At the same time the company will repay about 1.5 mln stg of existing bank borrowings. Referring to current trading it said each of the group's divisions has made further positive progress, adding it is confident of a positive outcome for the full year notwithstanding continuing poor levels of trade at Master Change. For 2004 it expects market conditions to remain good for HTEC and First Remit and for Master Change to benefit from a lowering of its cost base. It said HTEC has made further progress in the third quarter of the year and continues to enjoy a healthy order book. Referring to currency exchange, it said Master Change continued to experience poor levels of tourist traffic in Paris in the third quarter. It closed one bureau in Salzburg and plans to close a further three shops (one in London and two in Paris) in the remaining months of 2003. This activity is not expected to result in a significant additional cost. In the third quarter First Remit generated gross profit which covered its direct transaction costs. Should the current rate of growth in transaction numbers be maintained the directors believe that revenues from First Remit will cover all of the currency division overheads in 2004. rn | maut too
12/11/2003 20:28 | Martinc, I don't know as I have not done any on line shopping over here yet. I think this company is now well placed to be a major player in the electronic card automated systems production, and as such imo this company could go on in leap's and bounds. That being the case a few more rns 's regarding more contracs won should see the institutions starting to really take notice. ( all in my opinion that is) | chris nuttall

12/11/2003 18:44 | It will not work for `card not present transactions`-There are other security measures for this but they are not foolproof where this new pin system is nearly as good as. | geraldus
12/11/2003 11:07 | How does it work for online shopping? Do you have to enter your pin number on the website too? If not, it's a big hole in the security. | martinc
10/11/2003 20:38 | I live in France and all cards issued here are on the pin no basis, no signing at all, you just enter your pin no in the shop keypad system and it automaticaly connects with your bank, confirms funds and debits your account there and then. No pin code, no transactions, its as simple as that. When it is fully run out in England it will make every body's life a lot more simple and you dont have to wory about somebody trying to get funds out of your account as its your pin code and your not going to give that away to anybody (hopefully). So you don't have to wory about somebody copying your signature and debiting your account with charges. regards to all Chris. | chris nuttall

19/10/2003 18:04 | Somewhere in this company I detect a goodish product and weak management -0 the results are always, always behind the ball. LIke, when was the split from Card Clear? and what have they done since- anbd what is this thread and others like it on simlar fora but a load of excuses - weak management, not bright management. Money/time and no payback = lost opportunity - what a waste. Give me 40p again andf I'm out. | faz |
