16/5/2013 12:19 | Thanks guru. It seems like they have been very busy developing new products I was not aware of. Such as the shampoo to prevent children getting headlice. Repellant Sunscreens, wipes. These could give nice recurring income. | dassaco

13/5/2013 23:37 | Thanks encarter - Nice mention in there too American Vanguard, in April 2013, completed its equity investment in life sciences company, TyraTech, Inc. The company invested $3.7 million to clinch a 29.46% stake in TyraTech. The investment achieves a major goal through the expansion of American Vanguard's participation in the development of products derived from natural sources and penetration of such technologies in non-agricultural markets. | techair

10/5/2013 11:23 | The key thing I picked up is that they can develop a new product in a matter of weeks. They have a proven platform to do this. The cost is the packaging of the product. Bruno made the analogy to Coca Cola. TyraTech have the formulae which is the added value. The rest is just water to make the product. Their key challenge is getting the right partner for distribution, starting with France and the UK. They want this to be a premium product - at least for a start. | guru
10/5/2013 11:08 | That's great news guru - thanks for that. Nice to hear Bruno stepping into his stride. Guess it made you happier to hold? I know after reading that note, it did me Shame there is no follow through volume from last night though | techair

29/4/2013 21:44 | I would have thought all the Garden Centres, DIY stores such as B&Q, Homebase etc will be clearing their shelves of the neonicotinoids containing "bug killers" soon. And what will they replace it with? | guru

29/4/2013 17:40 | Bayer must feel the pressure with this ban.....but they are busy buying businesses e.g. Last September, Bayer agreed to buy Teva's American animal health operations for up to $145m, following the purchase of AgraQuest, a developer of bacteria to fight plant disease, for at least $425m. Maybe TyraTech would be a good fit for them. DYOR | guru
