Largely in agreement with the sentiment of your post 36994 but I see Carapa as the next binary piece of news. If it's bad there will be another hit and as I've said elsewhere, a discovery isn't good enough, they will have to flow test it to give some numbers to the market. If it is a discovery, then I miss out short term but that's a risk I'm prepared to take, particularly with the less complex ECO option also available.

Yes Morning xxnjr,

T or CNOOC could do the entire thing. The reserves are vast indeed. Could nearly wipe out Tullow debt alone. Feel a rights may be on the cards if there are no quick sales.

Need to junk the HQ in Chiswick, move to an industrial shed in Hounslow, and fire about 40% of the payroll.

Should be interesting day the price has fallen conserably. A lot of talk on the stability but I wonder if the new appointments to the board can steer Tullow back

Hi there Mario - I think T will exit EA lock, stock and barrel. Need the cash to pay down the debt. CNOOC/Total will probably take all of Uganda. Not having Tullow around will probably get the project underway [TLW fell out of favour years ago in Kampala]. Asian/Indian buyers could be interested in Kenya, providing Total still thinks Turkana is a goer.

I don't know if anybody else has commented on this but apart from the bad news the share price here was well and truly shafted by a computer trading algorithm. Looks as if that is settling down now and true value should emerge.

Uganda is not producing and non performing sucking up cash flow. A new farm out to Total however is likely....? (not for cash) now that the tax issue seems to be resolved. They need to reignite the pipeline too to Tanzania which was cancelled because the Ugandan government were not playing fairly with the oilers. Uganda is East Africa. A real achievement would be to build a pipeline from Uganda through Kenya to link up with Tullow oil in Turkana although that would be too easy but now that the Ugandan government are on the back foot ......

Whatever is said about debt and going bust the fact is it won’t be sold on the cheap because there is no pressing need to sell
