Lansdowne are the only ones that have been in from quite high...I have them short on 1.7.14....Odey were`t short last Sept....I`ll trawl back to find when.

OK I have them reporting 3.63% short on 6.1.16...It dropped late Dec from c170 to c120 in early Jan- Odey opening short? c33m short at that point. So they are going to be more than c£33m out of pocket just on TLW atm-

Phillis... that article is interesting, but I wish it was able to show at what prices Odey went short. We could then try and second guess when he may close his short. It's a bloody big bet against TLW...

I suspect that Lansdowne may be well in significant (paper) profit, though, as I seem to recall them going short when the share price was above £5

But I'm getting on a bit now, so my memory may not recall correctly.

I can see that shorter azalea has posted again. I have him on filter because he drops in here to post bad news ONLY. No balance whatsoever. That makes him disingenuous at best and a liar at worst.

Nevertheless, as I have quite correctly stated before, every time he posts here the share price rises sharply. So thanks for that, short stuff.

Odey seems to be betting on Britain PLC going bust - an 80% drop would be catastrophic!
I am hoping that TLW have hedged some barrels at around $50.
We will know next week!

Tallow has been saved by the rising price of oil through 2016, even if they are not producing a great deal of oil, but that will arrive imminently, and the falling price is now largely irrelevant, sentiment changed in the spring and it saved this cos. bacon, even despite the bearing issue in one of its wells!

Odey talks his own story, he has made his money by paying himself outrageous sums from performance targets, frankly these hedge funds amaze me that they can continue to attract funds as alternative investments, half the managers are underperforming the main indices by taking large bets on their personal intuition, sometimes it pays off, but when it goes wrong it goes wrong big time, look at Ackman (Valeant - almost £4bln down, Paulson with his pharma. bets, etc.). Odey may have generated some great returns, but in the last two years he's been down a fair bit, and still raking it in!

Odey says 80% slump... fruit AND nuts! Hoisted by his own Brexit petard, if you ask me.

I don't know what his return was in 2013 and before but he is taking on a lot of risk for the poor returns since...
