Plenty of gains still to be had with Tullow, I'm holding, make them pay.

If you start with £1000 and compound the gains you only need to do 73 trades taking 10% profit in each trade to reach £1 million. Easy 10% to be made here, this seems to be in a trading channel at the moment, but plenty of upside ahead as I don't think many see us ending the year at $30 oil price. This is a good trading share and recognised by many as soon as we get to 162 today plenty will be piling in.

THANKS HUB ON III

OPEC meeting in March will have some shorts covering as POO looks like it could challenge $40 levels. Hardly party time but it's meaningful if it puts in a 50% recovery off lows which is what $40pb amounts to.

Mario EU QE lined up in March too if reports are to be believed. The early wobble of 2016 seems to have settled but it's looking like more of a change of the guard as traditional bluechips get sold on weakness (banks etc) and Commodity players begin recovery adding weight back into FTSE100.

Glencore alone can add a chunk back into the FTSE100 nevermind BP, SHELL and ANGLO etc

Shorts over 5% amount to around 9.25% at present. My guess is that level will drop to around 3% by end of March/April.

Glencore's recovery from 65p to 127p today has taken under 4 weeks.

Tullow from 150p back to 240p+ may take a little longer but a break of 200p will have any remaining shorters pretty worried.

Surprised M&A whispers are silent at present as any signs of recover or oil stability normally opens the doors to acquisitions. Window of opportunity is closing if POO is set to break $50pb in second half.

Should be a very busy next 2 to 3 months. Question is... do the shorters really think there is more lows coming in POO and Tullow? If not... then closing out after OPEC formally agree FREEZE deal may be prudent.

Most are just waiting for Brent to hold gains and push on. At moment it's been in the $32-36 range, hopefully it can test $40 before meeting in March.Short term for TLW is debt outcome in March and update on turret issue.

There are, though, those who reckon that behind the steely rhetoric, producers have softened their stance considerably and that a recovery will come faster. Pavel Molchanov, the senior vice president and energy analyst at Raymond James, told CNBC oil could be as high as $60 by the end of the year."We are not talking about $100 - it's not going back to $100 - but certainly something in the $50 to $60 range. Maybe north of $60 looks like a good bet over the next nine to 12 months," he said.Source the week

The increasing frequency of these oil meetings is imo indicative of something breaking soon.

First this needs to get back above 150p (now resistance) and stay above this level for a week or so.
