05/10/2024 11:23 | This is the end game for TRIN, with the big bag of risk that is TXP now someone else’s problem, so I’m done following TRIN (and Trinidad too, though not oil). I have learned a lot over these last ten years. I now need to concentrate on my goldbug stuff, which is looking like the main event. Good luck all. | ![]() arlington chetwynd talbott

04/10/2024 19:43 | I know. I was just having a little dig. Trin has cost me dearly as you know. I lost out on the recent rise as you also know, as I decided to tinker before the Fed 1/2 % rise. Cost me very dearly.I only aimed to have it out of Trin for a very short while. I think I am just a bit sour. At least I made some back in BP/Glencore on the back of the China stimulus/1/2% Fed and oil price rise. Now held as cash. Not a nice way of seeing the oil price rise though-the horrific misery of the Middle East. Hamas and Hezbollah and Iran opened the tinderbox. Israel are inflicting wanton carnage but it was an accident always waiting to happen. Hence the Iron Dome. More to come sadly. I should’ve held BP but am fed up with getting it wrong. Trin? Yes they have got it right-as long as it actually goes through. 63p says there is still some doubt. Lease Operators are missing out on all that cash the longer they leave it methinks. | ![]() nocents
04/10/2024 18:20 | nocents - salaries are neither here nor there. The price of oil will probably ensure that it all happens soon enough. For once this BoD have done the right thing by the shareholders and earned their salaries. | ![]() arlington chetwynd talbott
04/10/2024 14:52 | No news . Par for the course. I would have thought LO would want this asap, but I guess salaries are still being paid so why should Trin rush?? | ![]() nocents
01/10/2024 15:58 | I would also like to have an idea when it might complete. We have to vote yet of course . The Scheme Document has to be published and released. | ![]() nocents
01/10/2024 15:43 | Anyone know when this deal will complete? Oil up over 4% today. Knowing Trinity’s luck oil will hit 200 a month after the sale! | ![]() aqc888

29/9/2024 17:15 | I'm invested in TRIN for some years and my initial investment was 140p then averaged down purchasing at 80p and 35 p and still incurred in a loss of around 20% considering the offer of 68 p. Of course I welcomed the takeover bid of TXP and the subsequent offer of LO is a blessing so I may exit this desaster decently and in a not ruinous manner. I have also watched the other oil plays in Trinidad and the performance of TXP is really abysmal. At the time of the takeover bid I took a small speculative position in TXP at 0.60. The actual price has not changed in the meanwhile. I invested in the Canadian market place because it is very liquid vs. Aim London. In retrospective I doubt I made a good investment decision because there are many good investment opportunities in the major oil producers with limited and only temporary loss potential against an almost total loss risk with Txp. I went in and I hold but the next spike up I sell and take the risk from the table. | ![]() milanista11
27/9/2024 15:47 | Appalling update. Yes 68p is a decent price on top of a bod that don’t seem to know much about how to keep an oil business in business. Wells failing, recompletions failing, 11 bopd from Jacobin “ which will eventually pay for itself “ (direct quote). Not in my lifetime . Plus another lifetime. This is what happens when the only person who knew anything about oil dies suddenly and leaves behind those who knew so little, relied upon him, and went gung ho with stuff they really knew nothing about.I cast myself back to Mr. Menzies and then the flurry of well-paid appointees who came, drivelled a bit on camera, and left. And a chairman who blamed chatboards for their demise. It’s like blaming kids in a playground for poor teaching! It really did become just another AIM lifestyle company with a plethora of well-remunerated revolving NED’s, directors and “ experts”. So exeunt Trin. Asap. Although it wouldn’t surprise me if they manage to get this cash offer wrong somewhere too!! Maybe that’s why we are at 62p. | ![]() nocents
27/9/2024 09:42 | Thanks sleepy, 8205. Apologies, I should have been clearer any information they may or may not have seen, will not have a material impact on the acquisition or else that should have been made public in first place. So actually they may well have been aware of the low Jacobin profiles, but it is not deemed material anyway. I'd "personally" written thst particularly well off anyway, as controversial as that may sound to TRIN'ies. I don't know how long you have been here but, I did invest a fair 6 figure sum some years ago which luckily I got out from, in small profit and invested significantly more in TXP later post Casca pre further exploration. I was only here because of BD and was reticent to invest in TXP (due to my misgivings about TXP management which I think have proven very right!) although the "investment" has fared sadly significantly better than otherwise left in TRIN, it has still fared badly though! So am an interested observer now, but takeover price a fraction of what I originally paid for TRIN and sold at. Best of luck all. All IMHO. | ![]() dunderheed

27/9/2024 08:55 | Jacobin at 11 bopd surely is not profitable. Was this not stated that it will eventually cover costs? That is not profitable business in my opinion.Yikes | ![]() che7win
27/9/2024 08:44 | 8202, Respectfully, they "shouldn't" have been. That is technically inside information until publicly released. IMHO. | ![]() dunderheed
27/9/2024 08:42 | Yes one wonders what the operating break even is at Trintes, can they actually be making any money at an asset level. | ![]() flyinghorse1
27/9/2024 08:40 | I would expect that LO was aware of these figures at the time of their offer | ![]() pavey ark
27/9/2024 08:00 | On the back of that update, 68p looks like a very good result indeed. | ![]() arlington chetwynd talbott |
