By the way, I think its maybe worth pointing out reform of SPT isn't a whim, the Trinny government have been working on it for at least two years. The news is just that in October the Finance Minister said he "expects to be in a position to present the new oil and gas fiscal regime before the end of this year."

In June he said:

"Madam Speaker, we have embarked on a long overdue reform of the oil and gas fiscal regimes with a view to ensuring consistency in their application with terms attractive for investment while at the same time securing a substantial share of the resources for the State. Having done the preliminary work in 2016, and consulted with industry, we are currently being assisted by the Fiscal Affairs Department of the IMF to establish a suitable legal and fiscal framework for oil and gas operations which would promote investment in the energy sector. We have listened and are in broad agreement with the upstream producers that a reform of the Supplemental Petroleum Tax (SPT) is required. We are satisfied that in a low-price environment and in its present form the SPT does not facilitate immediate investment."

Completion of the west coast assets sale are also expected this quarter.

If they tell us that they will use the cash to pay down debt i think it'll be well received.

The share price can do what it wants if you are here the long term value will out! Patience, the journey has begun.Unless of course you are trading it. Good luck!

Bruce also said we issue an update every 3 months and no exploration until Q1 2018 - in other words no news until possibly mid Feb.The share price will drift on no news

Wingspan, you seem very twitchy about SPT, we take your point. My view is TRIN is still undervalued with the current tax reigime in place. Should the reform be announced and be favourable, I see valuations multiple from here going into next year.

You saw Bruce in the presentation, he is very cautious and not one to hype things. I take a lot of comfort in his statement below, it seem to be more about a what not an if. We have a menmber of our board sitting on the consultation panel. We also had TXPs CEO seeming to let it slip that they are being told for sure it will happen this time. I continue to hold regardless of the outcome.

“Bruce A. I. Dingwall CBE, Executive Chairman of Trinity, commented:

"This could prove to be an extremely important change for the Company in terms of bottom line economics and Company valuation. The Government is aligned with Trinity in seeking to increase oil production and once the terms of the changes to SPT are clear we will then be in a position to quantify what the effect on the Company will be.”

At least with oil circa 55.5 with a zero% discount this equates to 44.4 dollars a barrel rather than a $hite 40 dollars.

Presentation: 29 mins and 50 seconds in...chap with 3 questions.

One of those questions concerns the royalty regimes...listen carefully to what Bruce says about the discount rate for SPT:

Quoting at 30 mins 34 ish seconds on: "The refinery price we get paid is related to a combination of crudes...(out here calypso on the east coast) and the product price they get paid for that generally trades at 6-8% below WTI. RECENTLY it has gone to 1% to 0% because of the refineries getting flooded in the Southern US where there is no product available, BUT normally it runs at 6-8% below West Texas and that is a tax that is 18% (of Net revs) onshore and 33% (of Net Revs) offshore."

In other words...we are firmly in SPT territory now...depending how long "recently" is it is now a quarterly reality that we are in SPT zone.
