19/4/2012 13:52 | You are not the only one who sees this as a good opportunity to top up. Growth company investor have just issued a buy note, I can't access the note yet, but just by reading the first sentence I can see it will be positive. See below... ic2... Tricorn 19/04/2012 Recent weakness in the share price of tube manipulation specialist Tricorn (TCN) has provided a good buying opportunity according to house broker Westhouse Securities. | interceptor2
19/4/2012 12:39 | Obviously a seller offloading and also a decent opportunity to buy back in. I've been loading up sub 31p. It'll make my LTBH list yet ;-) Regards GHF | glasshalfull
15/4/2012 21:47 | C & H - agreed. See 5 yr chart. | napoleon 14th
11/4/2012 14:36 | Not currently holding Tricorn, but that is starting to look like quite a cup and handle on the long-term chart. | saucepan
05/4/2012 10:59 | I can understand you doing that in a more liquid share cfro. When this moves its hard to deal in either direction. | shauney2
04/4/2012 12:15 | Excellent cfro. So you've sold some because you'd like to buy them back higher. Forgive me for thinking this is not the way to get rich! I'll sell you some for 50p if you like... The minister might start listening to me when I tell him this one! lololololo!!!!!!!!!! | britishb
04/4/2012 09:40 | For the sake of transparency i have top-sliced a few this morning but still retain a holding. I want to see a proper breakout on the chart now and if we get that i will probably add back. | cfro
03/4/2012 08:55 | Yep, as i said yesterday TCN have given shareholders what they want and more. Now, it would be nice if Westhouse got of their backsides and gave us some more up to date forecasts. | cfro
03/4/2012 08:16 | Agreed the 2013 estimate does look out of date, even if you just take what the Aerospace division is likely to contribute next financial year. Aerospace H1 2010 = LBT £0.169m H2 2010 = LBT £0.114m H1 2011 = LBT £0.045m H2 2011 = PBT £0.060m????? (Estimate) So Aerospace contributes £0.200m for the year? and that would only be a net margin figure of 2.9%. In 2009 the Aerospace division had better margins than Energy or Transportation. ic2... | interceptor2
03/4/2012 08:00 | Given that the previous trading statement was just over a month ago, an upgrade on that forecast has to be good news and bodes well for the new year. The dividend is also a sign of confidence. The 2012/2013 estimate of 3.72p looks well out of date. | daz
03/4/2012 07:56 | Nice t/s. These do look tempting ;-) Regards GHF | glasshalfull
03/4/2012 07:43 | As anticipated the Aerospace division to be profitable to the full year, so new management turning the division around well. Adjusted PBT of £1.6m should mean EPS of 3.53p. TCN still making good progress. ic2... | interceptor2
03/4/2012 07:34 | Pretty happy with yet another upgrade albeit a small one. Hopefully brokers will increase current years numbers too. | penpont
02/4/2012 19:18 | Westhouse increased forecasts on 28th Feb, at the time I noted they had EPS forecast of 3.4p for 2012, but afterwards only the PBT forecasts were showing. ic2... | interceptor2
02/4/2012 16:18 | Yes imo you are too hasty in taking your profits GHF. Nevertheless a 50% gain in three months is worth taking. Dont feel tomorrows ts will disappoint. Indeed i think they will give shareholders everthing they ask. Maunfacturing and exporters are about the only industries showing some sort of growth in an otherwise abysmal economy. Very happy with my holding as long as tomorrows ts is ok and that 50p share price target will look well within sight. | cfro
02/4/2012 15:13 | I sold up at 35-36p in recent spike up to lock in 50% capital gains having purchased quite a few in January at 23p-24p. The other reason I chose to liquidate this stock was that I felt that TCNs Chinese investment may impact on 2013 earnings before picking up in 2014. Yes, this is short termism and I swithered over it. I've a number of LTBHs and thought that TCN was going to join this select group. Westhouse have them making £1.54 million PTP for 2012 and £1.68 million PTP for 2013 which equates to a profit uplift of 9%. I don't appear to be able to access EPS targets. They are undoubtedly a class act and I may have been too hasty in taking profits. Tomorrow's statement should be bullish. I'm sure I'll be back in at some point. Regards, GHF | glasshalfull
02/4/2012 15:06 | Noticed some transactions in the middle of the spread @ 33p, so placed a cheeky order @ 33p and it was filled. TCN have never dissappointed me with a trading statement yet, and I would expect tomorrows statement to be positive also. Looking forward to it. ic2... | interceptor2
02/4/2012 15:03 | I have been surprised to see the fall here. With them saying the following only 4 weeks ago it would seem very unlikely that tomorrow's statement will disappoint, and I've topped up today accordingly - still, nothing can be guaranteed in the marketsI suppose: 'The Group has made an encouraging start to the final quarter with demand remaining strong and operational performance continuing to improve. Operating margins in all three of the Group's Divisions are anticipated to be ahead of first half performance. As a result the Company expects that full year Group PBT* will be ahead of market expectations.' | penpont
02/4/2012 14:32 | Shares are eerily quiet ahead of the trading statement tomorrow. | daz
13/3/2012 22:02 | Weak in a strong market today. | choppa
07/3/2012 23:20 | Tricorn in China expansion 05/03/2012 Miles Nolan Tube manipulation specialist Tricorn (TCN) has unveiled plans to expand in China by opening a new manufacturing facility. AIM listed Tricorn already has a string of customers in China, but the establishment of its own operations would likely help it attract additional business. The plan is for the new facility to be ready by the end of the current year, with the likelihood it will boost earnings by 2014. Indeed, the planned expansion has pushed house broker Westhouse to edge its pre-tax profit expectations up £100,000 to £2 million. Tricorn has had a purchasing office in China for eight years, which has helped it secure a network of suppiers and sub-contractors, so the move is a natural progression. We have remained long-term supporters of Tricorn and view the move as positive, though its clearly too soon to discuss the likelihood of significant upgrades. At 36p, the shares have more than doubled since our advice to buy last year. Westhouse has a price target of 50p, which is not unrealistic. I agree ;-) Regards, GHF | glasshalfull
05/3/2012 18:10 | Nice tailwind behind us now. The news of expansion into China is excellent imo. I suspect when i talked to Westhouse last week that they knew of this news to come out and were hanging on with their updated forecasts. I did wonder why i couldnt find anything at the time. 50p price target would still only be 13 times. | cfro
05/3/2012 18:08 | pleased to see the positive response to this news but puzzled by it too. Manufacturing in China will have longer term benefits but must surely add to short term costs. As a long term holder, that's fine by me but it's unusual to see the market taking a long term perspective. | alter ego
05/3/2012 17:57 | Thanks ic2. Great momentum here. Regards, GHF | glasshalfull |
