Toffeman, closed Thursday flat, didn't want to risk yesterday's move. Spread is ridiculous on this one. Easier pickings i think at WOS as long as it doesn't break out through the current consolidation area.

cheers

Richard

Sorry, been pretty busy the last few days. I'm not currently short because it seemed to be turning up again a few days ago, although it's now looking weaker. Quite hard to tell, but 1200 resistance seems to have held so far.

I have redrawn the wedge but I think 1160 is still a critical level, so I may wait to see if it breaks that before shorting again. I'm very wary of shorting anything at the moment.

None the wiser am I Smoke - looks like support is currentl 1175 in terms of that's where volume is selling at and someone is prepared to buy above.

So I am watching out for some substantial volume at below this level - wothcher think?

Well Smoke today's volume looks interesting - I guess it depends when those trades were from - if last week they may be good for us if not it may be back to 1200?

It would look that way. Tanking back to 1160 support again on heavy volume.

Well, I ain't going to close at 1202!!! - That's still 1200 as far as I am concerned. Tomorrow should be interesting.....

Well if it goes any higher I guess it scuppers our theory. I think we would definitely have to take a close above 1200 as bullish.

Well if it closes at 1200 we are back to the head (of the H&S which wasn't) in May 2002. Looks like we are in double top mode!

Seriously wouldn't we have to take a close above 1200 as bullish??

Hope it doesn't go through 1200.

But you may be right about the longer term pattern. There's no reason why we can't have a small head and shoulders forming the 'head' of a larger H&S pattern.

I make the target of the small h&s to be around the 1125 area, so it will be interesting to see if it turns there, giving it time to form the right shoulder and drop again from 1160 area. If it breaks the neckline at 1125 then it targets 1050, which looks to be a support/resistance level on the chart.

But we're never supposed to anticipate h&s formations so maybe we're getting ahead of ourselves!

:-)

BTW Smoke

I was looking at the chart again and you could argue that the left shoulder was May at around 1160 and if that IS the case there is the strategy of covering at 1120 and then re-shorting at the right shoulder re-test of 1160. Probably bust on up through 1200 now!!

cheers

A rather good analysis Smoke (if that doesn't sound too patronising)I agree on the key 1160 level and if it does break below that will make a good stop level.

Cheers and thanks for posting that - great reducer of cognitive dissonance!!
