Indeed, but this FD put money on the table knowing the complete picture so either knows something we don't or is not worth his salt. I suspect their cash flow issues were more to do with aggressive growth strategies than anything else and maybe this was a wake up call for them.

I see a lot of large fleet tenders out there which I feel the RH600 would fit the bill - so why aren't they winning contracts.

Surely any finance director worth his salt would have an idea of the current cash flow situation?

Actually, the 16th of November, but absolutely disgraceful all the same.

Good point dc2. Very astute observation.

I tell you what is disgusting; Burning all this cash on R & D. That's fine if it's solely the company's money but why should the tax payer fork out a percentage?

"Last year we received almost £1m of R&D Tax Claim refund in August. Assuming that we receive this year's claim in the next few days we expect that Net debt excluding leases at the end of the Half Year will be in the range £5.6m to £5.8m (31.3.19: £5.6m), which is a very significant improvement on the cash outflow of the corresponding period of the previous year."

WTF?? I'm not even going to try comprehending that. I can only assume that we are now entering the realms of adjusted cash flow. Bullsh*t, but you've got to hand it to them, innovative bullsh*t none the less.

You'd better hope that lefty councils don't close down Uber permanently.

No mention of the AA.

You're also right about obfuscating by avoiding numbers. I don't like phrases like, 'modest increase' and 'modest reduction' or even 'significant'. They're not tethered to any tangible meaning, in this context. Broadly, perhaps we can read this opaque update as, things are continuing to improve, in line with market expectations.

Let's see what the market makes of it at the bell, if it pays any attention at all.

Well, I didn't expect the AA update to drop the price. Ha

Thought you'd sold out.

I actually wish I'd bought some AA shares when they were down at 46p, a couple of months ago. Today over 70p. It's a heavily shorted stock, presumably due to its debt levels, but it seems to be defying predictions so far.

It's good that they've committed to the roll out and presumably have made some advance purchases.

This is also an interesting highlight:

"We are also looking to insure younger drivers, a demographic we do not currently target, utilising our Smart Breakdown technology. Our younger driver insurance proposition will go live in Q3 FY20"

As is the notes about healthy conversion rates re new insurance customers taking roadside membership (some should take SB).

All-in-all a good update.

Be interesting to see what Trak say on Thurs.

Finally the AA commit to the official launch of Smart Breakdown (q4) I feel that they have dragged their heels on this, should have launched years ago, but better late than never.

This will finally bring Trakm8 some serious unit sales and RR.

Patience!!

They do and the storms seem to be self-made.

But we are where are. Let’s hope those of us invested can salvage something from this. I’m at a level now where a smallish spike would recover my position. So here’s hoping.

"just that the storm is being weathered"

Trakm8 do seem rather adept at finding storms. Other telematics' firms seem to find the odd sunny spell.

The sky's much clearer on the Quartix horizon. And with their outdated meteorological equipment too!!
