Agreed there are no guarantees. I see tomorrow as an opportunity for a share price correction so market cap and fundamentals bear some resemblance but if nothing much happens I will close my shorts (hopefully still in profit) assuming no massive spikes and move on. I hope to see a large fall as people wake up to the damage COVID has caused but as you say may not happen like that

Folks remember what happened when TRN reported awful result 5th Nov? Stock rallied for weeks, 50%. As irrational as it sounds, awful numbers tomorrow won't necessarily mean stock goes lower unfortunately

I can only think it is either being manipulated or people are buying based on the trend/ chart without looking at the fundamentals. I am holding till results next week. If my short/ loss gets temporarily bigger in the meantime so be it. Once the results hit in black and white, or in this case in the red I think a few people will wake up and smell the coffee!

Every time i look at shorting this, it keeps on rising!All time high of 545p surely won't be surpassed?! 2.5bn debt, loss making, no divi, director sales...

It's revenue massively impacted, debt up and directors selling their shares in advance of the results. It may well recover but at today's prices I don't believe it's currently worth what the market says it is. If it doesn't drop substantially following results I will close my position and move onto something else where fundamentals do matter

Agreed that a lot of businesses will have poorer results. Looking back to the last full year results there was certainly some positives in there. Revenue up nearly a quarter and yet managed to lose 81m after tax. Given the impact of COVID with revenue at the half year down around 80%, where will PAT be now? Im not saying it is a bad business, just a business really heavily impacted by COVID

Aren't 90% of all businesses going to have terrible results this year?

I think that investors are looking beyond this year's inevitably terrible results.

Proof of this is that the market is holding up very well really.

I must confess it is an incredibly testing share to short! Every time it starts to look like falling it just reverses and goes up even more. On Spreadex the percentage of clients long - 0. It will need to hit all time highs to take out my stop loss, so that wont hopefully happen within the next 10 working days, by which time we should see just how bad those results are

I know! Keep the faith it's now only around 2 weeks till results, where I expect this almost half's in value. Should make for a nice payday
