Looking at 1.1p to buy here today. Pondering whether to take a tranche as a small gamble but will keep on watch for now. SAG must be looking at taking out the company at these levels and disillusioned investors may just want out now. Despite all the skeletons with maritime and write downs the residual business sum of the parts still has a value in excess of today's market cap £11.3m imho.

kiwihope , yes we disagreed but you were unfailingly civil.
Our difference really stemmed from my view of Maritime rendering all other (quite legitimate ) concerns insignificant.

I was wrong about their cash generation but still angry about my assessment of Maritime being rendered pointless in the wake of these fixed priced contracts.

Anyway we are all big boys and girls and live to fight another day.

likewise, good luck with your future investments

Hi Pavey,

It's a shame the way things have turned out. I remember our disagreements a while ago but I really hoped you were right. Because I had this continual worry that management was not focused enough on real profits, i.e. EPs, I never invested very much. But I have still lost money after finally selling out some months ago.

Like you I only buy cash rich or low debt companies. But I also look for real eps or imminently so.

Anyway, good luck with the future.

Just looked in to see if this pile of lifestyle pish was profitable. Seems that the waffle on adjustments continues. Still lossmaking.

TPG Services growing nicely – revenue up 14%, profit up 66%. Maritime even showing a slight profit despite onerous contracts weighing. Westek performing.

Refinancing is the dark cloud.

2021
TPG Services – Revenue £25.8M, profit £2.3M
Maritime – Revenue £18.5M, loss of £2.5M

H1 2022
TPG Services – Revenue £14.3M, profit £1.5M
Maritime – Revenue £10M, profit of £0.3M

Westek
Performing profitably again – looks like pre tax profit of £375k for H1 2022.
Pre-pandemic figures for Westek:
H1 2020, £0.2M profit on revenue of £1.8M,
FY2019, £0.6M profit on revenue of £3.9M.
Currently held as an asset for sale, and discussions continuing with a potential acquirer.

Quite a comprehensive annual report of over 80 pages. Far more open and transparent than has ever been published.

The company risk register is interesting.

Also note compensation for loss of office - looks like Lindsay received £169k during 2021. Wonder if that was a golden handshake or when he stepped down as CEO?

It was 07:00am on 3 September 2021 that Science Group formally withdrew its "conditional offer" for TPG.

Now that a full 12 months has elapsed, what are the chances of a RNS on Monday next week, announcing either (a) a revised offer, (b) increased holding by SAG (c) Directorate change (d) major sell off by M&G or Cannacord ..... Eyes down...!

Interesting job at TPG popped up on Linkedin - Weapons Assurance Consultant.

Not seen anything like that publicised at TPG previously.

Contact is a guy called Dr Steven Wagstaff who's profile is also on Linkedin

Come on Fat00mch, don't put a dampener on things!

However small the buys are in monetary terms, it is comparatively high volume for TPG and enough to move the share price up 10.9%...from a very low base I'll grant you, but I'm not knocking it.

fat00mch Correct. But, I can't remember the last time we saw a single transaction that size. And with low volumes, such sentiment can have a significant effect on future trends. Let's see.

1 large buy in terms of number of shares - but monetary value = £20k.

Something's brewing, it seems. These are unusually large Buys. SAG's 12 month exclusion is fast approaching, so either speculators are chancing their luck, or someone knows something is about to happen. If more (significant) Buys come in today, then there can only be one conclusion: TPG as a business has value. This is not a share to buy and sell for a quick profit on a day trading basis. Further Buys must mean there's either another bid coming in; or the shareholder structure is about to change significantly (let's see if a TR1 or RNS appears soon).
