Adam Robson, CEO of Torotrak welcomed the initiative, saying: "The Matching Service is a much needed service that will hugely benefit Torotrak. It's travelled in hope merely enriching the managers as they buy grand houses and put the kids through private schools! Of course the 'Tier 1' will be protected by an NDA! However it will be a positive if this thing does perform as promised, but of course it is still a long way from getting an OEM to use it in a vehicle.

Yes, it has certainly flattered to deceive over an extended period, but it just might be that it's time has come . .
I'm not holding my breath you understand , but I did make a bundle in those heady days of £5/£6 share , such a distant memory now . . . .

Unfortunately this is TRK and it has a history of almost 20 years of not ever delivering on the talk. So it will be a first if something actually happens as advertised.

From the February update . . .

The Tier 1 partner in the programme has committed to delivering the adapted turbocharger unit in March 2016 and it is anticipated that the results from on-engine testing will be available in April 2016. The parties expect these results to show that this new V-Charge configuration outperforms other advanced boosting technologies.

Give everyone a carbon allowance, and allow low users to trade their allowance with high users. We would then see the poor adopt a low carbon lifestyle, but also see who was buying the carbon credits to put in the Range Rover, and heat the mansion. We might then get 'celebrities' suddenly discovering that 'green' is good for their careers, and then it would become fashionable to be low carbon. But those leccy cars will have to have a real world assessment of their carbon footprint. Incidentally no one has mentioned the carbon involved in building public charging points for the leccyies.

Super - yes, it's quite interesting that there's a backlash growing against electric cars. George might save himself a bit of subsidy on all those Nissan Leafs by admitting that they are not really zero carbon.

Wasn't the latest version of V Charge supposed to have been produced and delivered for testing by end of March?

One day this is going bust and I am going to be kicking myself for not listening to my feelings and getting what's left of my investment out.

lefrene - dunno, it seemed a bit odd to me too - that's largely why I remember it - but that's definitely what he said. Maybe there's a motor/generator + starter geared directly - that certainly seems to be the way it's going. If you're ever in your local library, you'll find the interview in the Autocar issue that had all the Brit cars in it. My copy's gone to the great recycler in the sky.

Neily - I think you should do it now. I'm trying to find someone to cut mine, but no-one wants to. We need a few more immigrants to fill the labour shortage ;¬)
