30/12/2016 08:55 | ---- " Grass does not grow on a busy road" as the saying goes! | oliversanvil
29/12/2016 09:13 | AdBlue is a high quality urea solution that is easy to use. AdBlue is the registered trademark for AUS32, or Aqueous Urea Solution 32.5% that is used with the Selective Catalytic Reduction system (SCR) to reduce emissions of oxides of nitrogen from the exhaust of diesel vehicles.--- Expensive! | oliversanvil
20/12/2016 11:21 | not good - obviously the difficulty for TRK is that it is a pony with just a couple of tricks and it is trying to perform them in the public gaze, with not much money there could be dozens of similar developments going in within Tier 1s that are, to all intents and puropses, invisible if they fail and with no recourse to shareholders if they fail who knows, for instance, how long ZF works on n+1 gears in a gearbox before the investors even hear about it? | jpjp100
20/12/2016 09:25 | I believe that the delay has been engineered (excuse the pun) These type of technologies have their place and time. Not that far off now . Presently, Oil is King in the automotive world generating wealth for Governments in tax revenues and for some time yet. How are they going to get their share in taxes from Electric Vehicles? Patience required here . | oliversanvil
19/12/2016 10:48 | A drive shaft is just that, the V charge is run from a pulley off the either the crank or cam shaft. Presumably these small engines will all need a pressure device of some sort, but Ford et al will have options in how they are driven. | lefrene
19/12/2016 10:38 | Ford’s 1.0-L triple will add cylinder deactivation in 2018 Also included in the system are new engine mounts, drive shafts and suspension bushes, a new camshaft chain and metal-injection-mold | oliversanvil
19/12/2016 09:22 | Olivers I can see far worse scenarios. | alchemy
16/12/2016 16:08 | Takeover -- Perhaps-- worst case scenario. | oliversanvil
16/12/2016 14:01 | Ollivers Anvil, the sad thing is that TRK has been nothing but a litany of failed widgets, possibly quite good widgets, but none that anyone wanted to buy. All these things disappear without explanation, but usually with hints that things are still going on behind the scenes, no doubt so that snouts can be kept in the trough. To be fair the current incumbents have not been as greedy as the previous liars, and have not carefully crafted optimistic impressions as was the stock in trade of previous incumbents. I am though expecting perhaps Univance to buy TRK on the cheap, as Uni has put a lot into developing potential manufacturing for IVT technology, it would make sense for them to own the IP. | lefrene
16/12/2016 13:19 | V charge is probably all that they have left in the ammo box. I guess the OEM's are sitting it out waiting for TRK to fall off the perch, then all of a sudden a 'new' technology will appear in all sorts of machines. So JCB presumably have put this on the back burner. Perhaps they too hope TRK will fall off the perch? Perhaps TRK needs to mothball itself and only come out from under the covers for fully paid development work for interested customers. | lefrene
16/12/2016 09:46 | Finally ended the pain. Last one switch off the transmission please. | greenhorn54
16/12/2016 09:40 | V Charge is the "jewel in the crown" ! Not really worried about TRKs other side-kick projects. | oliversanvil
16/12/2016 08:32 | The trouble with torotrak is that it's always somebody else's fault. If their technology were all that compelling it would have been taken up long before now. Glad I have only a very small holding here, but sorry I have one at all. | pawdaw
16/12/2016 08:28 | Mmm - Doh! -------------------- Seasons Greetings to all. Regards. DYOR | james dean
16/12/2016 08:13 | Very bad news indeed and rather typical of Torotrak. To think, I bought some more after the recent results. Doh. | bodgit
16/12/2016 07:26 | Another twist in the longest running soap opera on LSE. | columbarius

01/12/2016 14:11 | Battery gets all the publicity because it is fashionable, but despite the hype and 'green glamour' I can't see battery getting anywhere near ice production volumes for 20 years or more. It's not only sourcing the rare and poisonous metals to make the batteries, but it is the generating capacity that is lacking. Perhaps if there is a break through in solar charging where a car covered in solar collectors can propel itself without limit, both day and night in the winter. Leccy cars are going to remain the playthings of the wealthy for a long time to come, unless they become as convenient as ice cars, and for the same price. | lefrene
01/12/2016 11:56 | I think the race is between the conservative model as in Oliver's post and the roll out of "big battery" technology. Now my mark in the world is not quite as big as the person who thinks big battery is in the top three of mankind's challenges viz Bill Gates.I think big battery will make oil so last convention sooner than anyone thinks....neverthele | alchemy
01/12/2016 09:10 | OPEC deal not to oversupply world with oil. Thus oil up.Glut of oil supply, which will be the prime fuel until 2050 Economic transportation will be the driver Thus TRK's days are coming up. | oliversanvil
01/12/2016 08:26 | They will continue to burn cash, as they are to late into the market for mass production due to personal transport turning to electric cars within a few years. The current cash balance is likely to dwindle to such an extent that they will more than likely to seek further funding, to ensure they can continue to draw their salaries for some time to come imo. | clocktower |
