22/11/2024 23:16 | I have just seen the photo, it does look really good and I know what you mean as mine is about 18 inches and can be difficult with smaller branches, good choice! | 2gekko
22/11/2024 22:34 | It is perfect for smaller branches where my 18 inch 60cc is way overkill. I have emailed you a piccy as I cannot post here. | jonjonck
22/11/2024 20:26 | Very nice indeed, it's certainly a mini chainsaw at six inches but you don't always need a full size saw | 2gekko
22/11/2024 13:15 | Just tested the chainsaw. Amazingly good and well balanced. | jonjonck
22/11/2024 12:47 | Yes and Yes. Good Afternoon. Back from shopping. The chainsaw is quite impressive and well made. Has a separate metal gearbox for the motor and duals up to pump oil to the bar. Well engineered and designed and quite powerful with its brushless motor. 20% off for Black Friday (£62), but I got the bare bones for £30 as I have batteries. | jonjonck
22/11/2024 11:54 | Morning Has the new toy arrived and have you taken it to bits yet | 2gekko
21/11/2024 23:18 | Thanks Rovi. I love stories like the above. Especially when I have been to the area. | jonjonck
21/11/2024 20:00 | Yes. JJ rented a flat in the right hand corner opposite the fantastic grand. I used to love watching mad sprouts driving citroen cv from a round the corner and then hitting the wet cobble stone great fun. The flat was rented off the E E C and as it was originally a. Flat for bureaucrats so it came with a once a month case of wine. The building on the right of us had an underground cellar club which you entered from what I can only describe as large pub cellar doors a gent in a heavy green long coat and a cap both the cap and coat had a lot of gold type braiding. The first time a posh club bouncer saluted us as we used to descend into the club. Oh and there was only one British pub that sold watney red barrel. | rovi70
21/11/2024 17:55 | Out for delivery but not here yet. Rovi, is this the Grand-Place to which you refer. It is pretty grand indeed. Amazing town hall building. I like Brussels, Mrs J had friends who lived there around 30 years ago and we stayed with them a couple of times. | jonjonck
21/11/2024 16:40 | Many many years ago lived in Brussels for about three months in the old center square. Small restaurant (cafe) menu snails, Calderon of mussels, steak and chips and the most expensive was horse and chips at 18shillings and 6pence 10.6 for steak. Had the horse every time as we used to gee the waitress up. | rovi70
21/11/2024 14:30 | Is it nearly there yet, sounds like a handy bit of kit | 2gekko
21/11/2024 12:46 | ...and damage a brand new sharp chain .... no chance. My angle grinder will not even touch the pubs pork pies. Have you not noticed Rovi uses a plasma cutter to get through the pastry to the meat. Now I call it meat but there is debate as to what animal it comes from and indeed may not even be from an animal. | jonjonck
21/11/2024 09:58 | Morning You can try it out on the Pubs pork pies | 2gekko
21/11/2024 08:51 | Good Morning. We are still stuck at zero. ditto brrrrrr. My mini chainsaw should arrive today. Not that I will be going out to use it anytime soon! Gives me a toy to play with and take to bits! | jonjonck
21/11/2024 06:51 | Morning Minus two here brrr .. I might skip my morning walk today | 2gekko
20/11/2024 15:49 | Just back from a very short walk as it is perishing out. 2 degrees, feels much colder. | jonjonck
20/11/2024 10:24 | Thanks for that, it's a problem as the vehicles are leased and tyres are included so we would have to take on the additional costs and I already know that won't go down well with management! | 2gekko
20/11/2024 09:09 | Advice from tyre companies.. As as quick summary: Summer tyres perform best in warm weather and should be swapped if the temperature is consistently below 7 degrees. We are consistently below 7 degrees in Scotland. | jonjonck
20/11/2024 08:52 | Thanks Jonners, I now have three requests and it's likely to snowball There are about 150 vehicles in Scotland and the lease company will not want to pay for the tyres, I shall pass it to senior management and agree that if someone had a serious accident having been refused the tyres I may be in for a change of address to Pentonville | 2gekko
20/11/2024 08:46 | Sorry! I do apologise for my rant above. | jonjonck
20/11/2024 08:39 | Now to answer the question you asked. Agree with Gates. We are relatively lucky in Tayside but in Perthshire and further north it gets pretty darn harsh in the winter. | jonjonck
20/11/2024 08:34 | Good Morning. Absolutely should be fitted in Scotland 2G. All season with M&S rating adds a huge safety factor and with temperatures below 5 degrees here a lot with rain, ice and snow we should have nothing else fitted in Scotland. However sadly most new cars sold in Scotland come with summer rated tyres. Absolutely stupid and totally unfit for purpose if you want to drive in the winter months. There is even an argument to fit full blown winter tyres in some areas. Sorry! but to me there is no debate on fitting all season tyres with M&S rating, its a must if your drivers are on the road in the winter months. There is also the legal side if a driver has a bad accident, he could take legal action against the company for not fitting appropriate tyres when asked. So you are in a corner now and having been asked you have to agree to fitting. ... and that is my final answer as Jeremy would say. | jonjonck
20/11/2024 07:49 | Thanks Gates, it does sound like harsh conditions up there! | 2gekko |
