22/5/2022 09:09 | So you float a company for £5 and take it private with your mates after 2 years at £2.50. until recently the company was indicating that her because they've exceeded their IPO targets the IPO price is not only appropriate but low. Say what you want but you just cannot tell if MM is trustworthy or not. I submitted my vote for the AGM - I want him replaced. Nothing against him personally but everything that's happened asks for a new face. | ![]() bldm
22/5/2022 09:00 | We know whats been going on here, SHORT & DISTORT is illegal. Since this Numis Fiasco, they have done anything and everything to drag THG down. I mean Numis had to report themselves to the FCA, never heard anything like it.this has been a very sorry story being listed on LSE, hope it leads to prosecutions, and hope LSE never receive any big Tech IPO ever again, the game is rigged, and there is no protection against it! The only thing for small PI's whoever could see it at rock bottom prices, and even now, they presented us with a crazy opportunity, one which we may never see again.. All it needed was patience, conviction and research! A crazy few weeks to come. Strap yourselves in! | ![]() london07

22/5/2022 00:15 | Personally I think Matt Moulding & the Board have engineered all the news over the last few days. I am disappointed that a couple of weeks ago 170p significantly undervalued the business but now 250p is now acceptable even though he turned down a much higher offer in 2018 when the business was nowhere near as big or as good as it is now. The side story of Candy's interest, who is a associate of MM is just a smokescreen IMO, and come June 17th he will pull out of the bidding leaving it to McDonald to emerge as the only bidder that MM will use his golden share to accept after what they will say is a generous 120 percent premium to last Thursdays closing price . I fear that many long term investors will miss out as it is taken private on the cheap. | ![]() blueflame
21/5/2022 23:33 | This is very indicative of the market in modern times, these artificial problems are escalated by behaviors of PIs nowadays who feed the big boys with everything they need through this short-term trading mentality bought over from AIM, and the inability to hold, it's trickled over the whole market. | davsec919
21/5/2022 22:51 | The powers that be, have 'artificially created' this problem to where we are now through 'short & distort' which is completely illegal. Its crystal clear now that someone decided they wanted THG but didn't want to spend £6.80+, so they expended time and money to crash THG, thinking they can conduct buyout theft (ticks every single box). However they would have fully expected for MM to give up his special share where he can veto a hostile takeover, for the precise reason we find ourselves in today, he luckily never gave up that golden share! Pay fair value, otherwise MM is not going to entertain it! If MBO, to simply keep his dignity and standing in the business community he needs to get as close to fair value as possible! | ![]() london07

21/5/2022 19:31 | What I posted in post 16458: As I said before EBITDA is not a good proxy for cashflow as there are other elements related to cashflow such as capital expenditure, working capital, acquisitions etc. With a company like this you have to consider these aspects as they are quite active in these areas. --> Which means PROFIT BEFORE TAX + finance costs (expensed not paid) + depreciation + amortisation [gets you to EBITDA.] then you have to consider: working capital movements which gives you cashflow from operations then you have to consider cashflow related to capital expenditure cashflow related to acquisitions cashflow related to financing in order to get a proper view of cashflow So people (not me) came up with the idea of EBITDA as a proxy for cashflow but its not sufficient especially for a company active in acquisitions and capital expenditure. | ![]() bigt20
21/5/2022 19:19 | 1licker 20 May '22 - 23:54 - 16459 of 16501 0 0 0 You absolutely idiot. Ebitdas has nothing to do with capex. --> I KNOW IT DOESNT. You have to add the other aspects such as working capital movements, capital expenditure, acquisition expenditure and financing to EBITDA to get a proper view of cashflow given how active they are in acquisitions and spending on capital expenditure Thats why i criticise EBITDA being used as a proxy for cashflow by some people. This is not a mature business with no (or very little to be regarded as material) spending on acquisitions and capital expenditure. | ![]() bigt20
21/5/2022 18:20 | Loss Leader, do you really think that when there is a low free float it is cheap to buy that out ? | hooded claw
21/5/2022 18:00 | I find Toansy’s contributions insightful and very informative. I think that we holders are in a good position. Certainly not prudent to sell now.. | 1apache
21/5/2022 16:42 | So it would not be that expensive from the insiders point of view to buy out our 10% at a premium? The upside for them is they can do whatever they like with their 90% - presumably targetting a bigger win long term. L L | ![]() loss-leader
21/5/2022 16:37 | We are extremely fortunate an independent non exec Chairman arrived just in time. To be fair, I wouldn’t be holding such a large position if Charles Allen hadn’t joined THG in late March. Also when Charles Allen the new Chairman didn’t buy any shares after the April results day when the closed period ended it became obvious that there was a reason he was still prevented from buying - So I bought more. | ![]() boix
21/5/2022 16:35 | Lets trust that the buyout share price is satisfactory next week should be exciting | ![]() grupo guitarlumber |
