Selling out on Thursday would have been an upsetting mistake for anyone although even the charts indicated a sell recommendation

Fortunately most don’t trade using just charts although the greater market was also extremely volatile.
Certainly feel sorry for anyone that did sell just a few hours before the RNS.

In order for a company to go private, a majority of shareholders must agree to the buyout offer. Technically speaking, you have the option to refuse to sell, but in reality, few do because the offer is typically at an attractive premium.

True value is £5+
If they offer £4 it will be acceptable but not the true value IMO.

Now future value is another thing £10+ minimum.

I would love to be there when it tops that.

Here's hoping from LSEIt came out just after the Candy RNS, not before. Perhaps it was made public to demonstrate that there is no point Candy submitting a bid of anything less than what £2.30 / £2.50? That won't be accepted either, but I suppose that it just says don't even bother if you are going to be daft about it. I agree with what Okehurst (and others) have said - he is going to give time to flush out bids and then trump the highest by an amount on top to take private. The costs are also a red herring in MM's case as he would only ever have to buy a relatively small amount of the shares, with a number of parties carrying through their state to the Private Entity I suppose. On that basis, if it is done as a concert party, it doesn't matter what they bought their holdings at previously if they still end up retaining them, or getting something similar in the new venture.

I held Menzies last year when it got taken out. Feels here like multiple bids will emerge. All sorts of games being played by all sides of a potential deal. Very happy to hold and see how it plays out.

Trolley - agree. It's going private one way or another. Decision has been made. Just got to wait and see what they think is fair value! Journey to the end game has started, end of June and this is all over.

When news hits, as seen on thursday, you are either in or out. There will be a few more gap ups, and deal will then be made.

Which ever way it goes sale or take private this is only going to get better.
We will find out in a few weeks if not sooner.
Now the news is spreading there will be buying pressure everyday.
