Agreed it didn't say much but good to hear something. They will very likely survive this but the hit is very uncertain. Still a long term buy but could be rocky. omoo.

Said dividend cancelled as they are taking part in the retention scheme, but otherwise seem to be doing ok in the circumstances.

Furthermore, our agile culture and focus on innovation means we are well placed to take advantage of opportunities that may arise from the crisis. An early example of this is Pathfindr's recent launch of a new Safe Distancing Assistant, a wearable device which helps people maintain safe distancing and keep businesses open. For more information, visit Pathfindr's website and yesterday's Sky News piece.

Yes it is a very positive article bb and pleasingly already gone from the design stage to already being produced and sold in size with a variety of users.

"...The firm is already selling hundreds of units per week, but international demand has surged, and it is expanding production to cater for several thousand orders per week by the middle of next month.

They say they've had enquiries from martial arts clubs in New York, and large pharmaceutical companies in Europe..."

Brilliant find Jeff H.Last I saw around £49 each so peanuts and cranking up to 0000s per week within a month. V well worth reading and pubs can wash them and hand them out again. If it comes good, would love to buy these guys a drink in some real ale public house. Certainty, offsets legal liablility, how relaxing can that be?

Further to my post 157 the new safe distancing gizmo makes Sky News:-

Coronavirus: Could this be the answer to social distancing at work?

"...has now switched production to focus entirely on the beepers..." - sounds good.

Thank you JeffH

Now to see how good TMG really are at marketing :)

It is clearly a device to help us overcome out instincts and habits when with other people - A bit pricey if it is to capture a mass market of millions, in my view.

Despite the jeering and sneering (from me as well) - I wonder whether incorporating the name "Alert" in the name of the device would help with publicity. In fact, call it a "LERT"

Of course it would (you're welcome :))

Good find - amazed this hasn't been RNS'd. On a webinar with lots of large PLC directors yesterday, there was a serious amount of interest in using technology to prove (to the HSE and the worried workforce) that they are taking their responsibilities seriously. The experience in China was (from a senir Chinese busineswoman) "it's all about trust", the quicker you can get the trust of employees and customers back, the quicker you'll recover.

Pathfindr develops Safe Distancing Assistant amid COVID-19 outbreak:-

Low cost devices alert wearers when they are within two metres of each other.

As governments around the world introduced strict measures to limit the spread of Coronavirus, we have been busy developing a wearable personal safety device to assist workplaces in meeting social distancing protocols.

The Safe Distancing Assistant has successfully undergone testing with several large UK manufacturers and is now being launched more widely as a training and enforcement device for safe personal distancing in the workplace, including factories, warehouses, logistics hubs and construction sites.

Accuracy and reliability are vital

The lightweight devices use ultra-wideband, low power technology (3.5ghz radio TX frequency) to scan for nearby colleagues, providing a full 360-degree field of detection that has proved much more reliable and accurate than Bluetooth during extensive testing. The devices then emit a short audible alarm or vibration when wearers move within two meters of one another.

Development of the Safe Distancing Assistant, from initial idea all the way through to production, was led by Paulo Gois, Embedded Electronics Engineer at Pathfindr. Paulo spotted a way to help Pathfindr customers – which include some of the world’s largest engineering and manufacturing firms – to safely continue essential operations, while also providing peace of mind to staff when it comes to their own safety.

Rapid and responsive innovation

Ben Sturgess, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Pathfindr, said: “This is a project we really care about and it’s great to be able to develop technology to help businesses at a time when it’s really needed. We’ve worked around the clock to build and test a solution in a matter of days, as the impact of manufacturing downtime begins to be felt across the globe."

“The aim of the Safe Distancing Assistant is to enable work to safely continue – providing control to organisations and individuals working within them to prevent the spread of infection. We’re excited by the demand that we’re already seeing for this and have begun exploring the potential for it to be developed even further, including adding a capability for contact tracing into an enhanced version.”

Worn on a lanyard or attached by the device’s clip, the Safe Distancing Assistant includes a number of features to make it suitable for industry use, including adjustable volume and an optional vibration alert, a lightweight design which is foreign object damage (FOD) aware and is also oil resistant and silicone free. The device only operates when worn to prevent unnecessarily alerts.

The Safe Distancing Assistant is priced at £49 per unit and trial kits are available in the online shop.

....could be a winner I guess.

Think the better "value" play is SAA....take a look at that thread, I am in, the new stake just been taken by a very well respected entrepreneur, share price was IMO just too low, pricing to go bust, it doesn't look like it will and her 13% stake IMO is a great vote of confidence. New management team, importantly a new FD etc put history behind it, move on and it was £3 a year or so ago, now languishing at c.60p, but momentum is with it....DYOR as ever, Markie has posted some good analysis.......prefer that to TMG tbh.....

Decent set of HISTORIC results, again, I would just be careful when looking at an entry point. 2008-9 showed how companies culled marketing spend day one of crisis and it didn't come back quickly.

I sense the bounce is short-lived and will hold on for an entry point lower (if not that's life), as I do like the management / company as a whole.
