Why so little interest?

I now pray for a takeover at NAV.

I can but agree with your posting and by the full year nav per share could well exceed 6.0p.
If memory serves me correctly, at the AGM when Steven Deans resigned, although I questioned the sizeable payments which he received through his offshore company the Directors did not pursue recovery of monies paid or seek to stop further payments.
Perhaps senior executives and Directors are more kindly treated by their peer group than they would be by shareholders.
Having bought and sold Artisan, I am almost at breakeven on this investment and
trust that you are in as good or better position.

The interims are mildly better than I was expecting after the last trading update in October, but I was expecting either a return to the dividend list today or a hint that there would be a final divi at the end of the year. A small divi is now affordable. Also I do not like gratuitous payments to chief officers or Board members when they leave (for whatever reason). They received their salary while they were working.
That said I believe that the strategy of gradual expansion of the business is the right one, and because Artisan is starting from a relatively low baseline there could be some sigificant growth in next few years and I hope this is reflected in a well deserved rise in the share price.

Would it not be better to use the money to buy more land ?

... or pay a divi.

I think the company should do a share buyback as share price is much less than NAV.

Its not rocket science is it!

Comments anyone?

We've jut got to hope that a tip sheet picks this up and calls it as one of the likely movers for 2006, either on a re-rating or a bid now that 99% of the skeletons are out of the cupboard (obviously the molasc is still resident)

The Chairman's problem is he was duped by SD into paying 11p a share for these ans so I hope hes not banking on capital profits to fund his retirement!!!

Generally good results and these deserve to be nearer 5p than 3p.

The results seem as expected but why the large payment to the outgoing CE ? Believe a dividend payment may restore some interest and boost share price a little but assume not tax efficinet to Chairman who at some stage is looking for an exit and a nice capital profit on his shares .

note •Net assets per share of 5.8p (2004: 5.1p).............usually these small builders trade at a discount to net assets of 15/20%, so should see share price at about 4.5p..............or better still a predator takes them out at around 7p!
