It's a difficult place to be invested, granted. I'm not totally convinced that we won't see further delays But I'm quietly confident we are now on the right track. Unfortunately it won't be the bullet train. They don't run in Kaz.

My alarm is on snooze for a couple of months. Hopefully it might actually get a bit more exciting after that.

Lets hope we're all raising a glass to everything being completed successfully by the end of May and thereafter, on time.

History shows that even the most experienced oil companies in the world have failed to extract oil from this location. As far as I'm aware, even CNPC have given up after concerted efforts. The problem has always been the depth of this sub salt reserve and even the best equipped companies would struggle to reach it. So what chance would Tethys have had.
Pulling out or being pushed, ultimately it was the right decision.

Tankerton,

Unfortunately an expensive logistical nightmare. I'm glad we have nothing to do with it anymore.

In September 2015, CNPC and Total demanded that Tethys Petroleum withdraw from this project. An ultimatum was issued to Tethys due to the company's failure to fulfill its obligations and debt on the project.

The matter went to litigation, and in 2017, the International Arbitration Court recognized Total and CNPC's claims as justified.

In its latest statement in early 2018, Tethys announced that it had decided to withdraw from the project due to high risk and significant expenses required to continue work.

Thus, after Total's exit from the agreement, CNPC remains its only participant.

I can see Tethys getting the licence and full steam ahead supporting the Russian need for oil at world prices and everything is going well until Ukrainian Special Forces blow up Tethys.
We would need to put dear old Dr3dd into therapy 😆

The exchange is ridiculous, couldn't agree more. But above all else, Tethys need to complete their list of things to do. A One month delay although minor is still a delay. What they really need to do now is reduce that delay and get onto those idiots issuing permits, harass them everyday to make sure the delay isn't extended further. Tethys need to start achieving their own deadlines. Something that has never ever happened.

Wrighty46, the board have to be doing something as they have quite a lot of spare time on their hands due to delays, blah blah blah!

I suppose it's conceivable that deals in principle could already have been done in the background on forward selling our oil, access to pipeline, and we could have even had approaches from possible buyers etc, obviously if any of these are going on I presume nothing can be announced until the export permit is granted.
