The reply from Tethys was a firm "Not to our knowledge"
So I think we can rule out any involvement in Tajikistan.

So perhaps all the excitement at Olisol is based on the commercial license and maybe knowledge of something in Kaz, hopefully pertaining to Tethys recent purchases of adjacent blocks

Yes I was thinking I had read something like that but then,
I dug this out of the 2018 MD&A report. Looks pretty final to me.

Results of Operations and Operational Review - Tajikistan
On December 30, 2017 the Company announced that its subsidiary, Kulob Petroleum Limited
("Kulob"), had been notified of the final arbitration award in respect of Kulob's interest in the Bokhtar
Production Sharing Contract ("Participating Interest") and Joint Operating Agreement and
Shareholders' Agreement ("JOA") with Total E&P Tajikistan B.V. (“Total”) and CNPC Central Asia B.V.
(“CNPC”) pertaining to oil and gas exploration and production rights in Tajikistan.
The Arbitral Tribunal of the ICC declared and/or ordered that Total and CNPC are entitled under the
JOA to require Kulob to withdraw from the JOA and assign its Participating Interest to them and Kulob
should do so.
In view of the circumstances described above, the results of the Tajikistan segment have been
disclosed as a discontinued operation and shown separately from the results of the Company’s
continuing operations. In accordance with the disclosure requirements for discontinued operations,
the comparative figures in the Income Statement have been restated to be consistent with the current
year presentation.
On May 31, 2018, Tethys Tajikistan Limited and Kulob were struck off by the Cayman Islands Registry
of Companies. As a consequence, the Company has lost control over those subsidiaries and
derecognised their assets and liabilities and the related non-controlling interest. The resulting gain has
been recognised in profit or loss.

Yeah, I remember when it came to the end and tethys pulled/ was pushed out, there was a clause where we could buy back in if we wanted, I'm pretty sure that was the case. Interesting.

Wrighty,

Tankerton's posts have sparked a few thoughts about Tajikistan. I don't know if he has any knowledge about possible Tethys involvement or that it's pure speculation on his part.
As far as I know, we no longer have any involvement in this project. So I have written to Tethys to ask the question.

IMO, it would be daft to rule it out completely. Probably wouldn't happen this year but if all goes well regarding commercial licenses, Tethys could have the cash next year to get involved Bokhtar. It would make sense for the Tethys strategy of becoming a large oiler. And they don't get much bigger than Tajikistan.

Obviously the commercial license will be a game changer for Tethys. It will certainly quadruple current revenue, that being a conservative estimate.
But would this alone be the reason for the Olisol infighting, or is something else brewing. Something far bigger 🧐 🤔

1399Peter, they have to start crawling before they can walk, let alone run and by the time the board sort anything out they will all be in zimmer frames and we will be living on the moon!

Clearly Tethys couldn't afford this folly at the time. None of us know the conditions that were set after the arbitration found in favour of Total and CNPC's complaint about Tethys "at the time". There might have been conditions set for re-entry if Tethys could ever afford to do so. Who Knows.

Personally, I hope that Tethys are not considering this project

I think it's safe to say, that the larger share holders are obviously expecting a turnaround or sale. You don't squirrel your investments for no good reason.

Maybe somebody who has struck up conversation with Bill Wells could be so kind as to ask the question straight to him as the Tethys board do not seem to think another major investor is important when buying out Olisols share (if they have or it could be a simple name change) or as per usual with this lot they have not received the carrier pigeon with the little note taped to its leg for the board to get the news!

Tankerton, no, I am not saying that. It was just some info that came up when I searched FZE vs FZC.

So are we saying that with this FZE we have UAE interest?

I was typing as you posted.
So if Olisol set up this FZC. They would be able to distribute those shares to others holding less than 3%. But you still have to announce threshold crossed when that changes. And it clearly has.

There must be some sort of special circumstances in place for this not being officially announced. Imo
