07/3/2022 11:35 | Don't see much to be gained by taking Russian booze off the shelves once it's bought and paid for. Obviously don't order any more (probably couldn't if they wanted to) but dumping it doesn't help anybody, and probably does actual harm. Obviously if it doesn't sell, the shelf space should be given to something British and profitable. | thamestrader

05/3/2022 09:35 | Johnwise, Not seen Russian vodka on special yet, surprisingly. What are Sainsbury doing with their lot? Pouring it down the drain? What a waste eh comrade! :) | geckotheglorious
04/3/2022 20:37 | From Кри 18 minutes ago A Russian here. Thank you to everyone who acknowledges our efforts in the fight against the regime. It's very dangerous and more than 7,000 people have been locked up those past days. But people still take to the streets and fight, because the thought of this war, this injustice IN OUR NAME is unbearable. We never wanted this, we never voted for Putin in the first place, we have families and friends in Ukraine and we closely follow all the news about the damage Russia has done to Ukraine. Their president is a hero, and they are much freer than we are. I know it's hard to believe and even I hardly believe it but today the Russian government has passed a law that gets you in jail for 'fake news' for up to 15 years. The fake news being, of course, the news contradicting the official propaganda stance (the one that says there's no war). And it's not only about the media but also any social media posts. And now I, who's never been particularly afraid and has always been quite vocal (because I'm too young to remember what it used to be like in the Soviet times), I'm scared now. Even to write this comment. I'm not exaggerating. You guys should really appreciate the free world you live in! And please don't hate Russians, being hated makes it harder still. 01/3/2022 10:02 | Well the Which didn't ask me or I would have answered differently on a few results. I have written before about this but for anybody new.... Ocado really let us down because the delivery boy produced shopping that had washing up liquid spilt over most of the products. Sure they were wrapped mostly and accidents happen but when I rung up to compain and asked for the shopping to be taken back the man was bullying and rude and point blank refused. M and S we use because they are close by but I feel there are not as good as they used to be. Tesco is the clear winner for me regardless of which shares I hold. | hazl

21/2/2022 09:58 | Johnwise "Nine million Brits are set to be hit by Rishi Sunak’s £40billion stealth tax bombshell. This comes on top of higher bills, including a 1.25% hike in National Insurance" Living beyond your means and racking up the national debt over decades means at some point difficult decisions(aka rising taxes/cutting spending) have to be made. For now w are focusing on raising taxes....but cutting spending will come. And it will have to be cut to the bone because the Natiobnal Debt is eyewateringly high. And still rising. We cannot continue living like this. | geckotheglorious
21/2/2022 09:56 | Johnwise "Inflation Crisis It seems that this government and its cronies are doing their utmost best to ration, or put out of reach of the people, the necessities of life such as food, heating and water. Watching people, (especially pensioners) freezing and starving to death may appeal to the likes of Mogg and Johnson but not to decent folk" It'd be no different under Liebour, in fact it'd be worse. This soaring inflation is a result of living beyond our means for so long, ever increasing entitlement, and supply chain chaos resulting from halfwitted Covid policies. This soaring inflation was always inevitable. As is the poverty and severe curtailment of standards of living for so many. | geckotheglorious
20/2/2022 06:56 | People cannot afford this, with everything else rising in price, this will be a grim year for most people.. 19/2/2022 05:59 | Inflation Crisis It seems that this government and its cronies are doing their utmost best to ration, or put out of reach of the people, the necessities of life such as food, heating and water. Watching people, (especially pensioners) freezing and starving to death may appeal to the likes of Mogg and Johnson but not to decent folk. Squeezing more money out of us. Six million households could face mandatory water meters to stop areas running dry in another blow for consumers - despite a FIFTH of supplies being lost to leaks each day | johnwise

14/2/2022 07:42 | S&S ISAs are indeed excellent and woe betide any chancellor who tries to abolish them. But cash ISAs are a waste of time at current interest rates, and probably should be abolished to get people spending money to get the economy moving. Oh, but that would fuel inflation, interest rates would go up, and suddenly they wouldn't be a waste of space anymore. So don't abolish Cash ISAs, but adjust the allowance as required to encourage/ discourage saving as appropriate for the economy at the time (gives another weapon, in addition to interest rates). | thamestrader
