Tesco ditches night shifts at 120 sites, putting 1,500 jobs at risk

Decision affects 80 stores and 40 petrol stations, and retailer will try to find other roles for staff involved

The potential job cuts emerged only a day after the UK’s biggest supermarket chain said it would be shutting its Jack’s discount chain, with the potential loss of about 130 jobs, and closing more of its deli and meat counters.

I've noticed Tesco staff filling shelves and pick and collect orders. Because of their wide aisles, it is no inconvenience to shoppers. Not possible IMHO in Aldi or Lidl narrower aisles.
