I'm looking at it that you are receiving a 20% dividend bonus ,but you're shares will be reduced by 20% ! Is that it , i.e , no real change ?

Share capital reducing 15:19, should in theory result in forward dividends increasing 4:19 ...? EPS up 4:19, then DPS up 4:19 ..? and a stronger yielding share to hold onto..

With the DRIP / ADR I can see this getting strongly bought on 26th when the special clears accounts and all the funds start going back into the share could result in some strong gains..?

The price should stay relatively stable until Ex Div date
Because of 15/19 dilution any drop below 2.42 will make the dividend more attractive, encouraging demand.
Conversely people will not pay more for as it reduces percentage of dividend.
Anybody's guess what happens after Feb 15th. coincidentally 50th anniversary of decimalisation.

I have Tesco shares in a normal regular account rather than ISA. If I sell those to use my CGT allowance now and buy back into my ISA to get the dividend tax free anyone know if that is allowed? TIA

Golden, you might well be right if the 'tech/growth' sector comes unstuck.

Growth has had its day (actually many days) in the sun. It's time for value investing to have its day in the sun.

Golden, I was worried until I read the circular.

This was not a great purchase for me as I am still 'under water'.

I will not reinvest the special dividend in Tesco as I feel having some cash on hand is the right thing right now.

Golden, as stated, the shares I hold are owned by a U.K. limited company by way of an investment.

Apologies in advance for repeating what has I am sure been discussed here already, but on the 50.93p special payout coming up, assuming all is inside an ISA with no income/dividend tax to consider..

If the share price reaches c275p by XD day, the gain could be crystallised the day before, but if the share price remains where it is or thereabouts, what is the most likely result for shareholders retaining their position..? after XD, 50p share price drop and the 15:19 consolidation, reinvest and buy your shares back with the dividend but your net gain in GPB could be zero..?
