25/1/2021 10:24 | Is the special divi for existing shareholders only? Thinking of buying a load buy might it be better to buy after the divi has been paid.. | tonyevo256
24/1/2021 22:49 | I think Rolls Royce is going to be a massive player in alternatives. And truly geared for all markets. Not flavour of the month of course. Timing required or just buy monthly for ten years | sentiment riles
24/1/2021 22:32 | Any utilities here supplying any emerging markets btw? | sentiment riles
24/1/2021 22:30 | Best to get a pullback in them first. Not much payout in the first quarter so should be a drop somewhere now to March | sentiment riles
24/1/2021 22:25 | Utilities are also not about to go out of business and many pay a very decent yield. | bountyhunter
24/1/2021 18:29 | Food retailers are the only safe shares to hold at the moment I think. | albert3591

24/1/2021 17:44 | The recapitalisation should enable the shareprice to remain the same, so no change to the number of options and the strike price. I have employee share options so this affects me too. For example Before Tesco mkt cap 50bn, returns 10bn share price 200p 25bn shares After Tesco mkt cap 40bn share price 200p 20bn shares (4 new shares for 5 old shares) However the options will still have the same number of new as old shares as they didn't receive the return of capital. That's how I see it. | yf23_1
24/1/2021 13:26 | 'Boycott Brussels!' Britons say they've stopped buying EU goods over Brussels' 'pettiness'. BRITONS have viciously mocked the European Union as Brussels prepares to rip up its own Brexit rules after less than a month and cave over its petty ham sandwich ban on British travellers. "His jest will savour but of shallow wit, When thousands weep more than did laugh at it." Henry V - W. Shakespeare. | joestalin
24/1/2021 12:25 | konrad - running both short puts and calls so quite an important question. ;) | alphorn
24/1/2021 12:01 | Alphorn, so I guess in respect of traded options a return of capital is better than a dividend? I don't hold any however it is an interesting question. | konradpuss
24/1/2021 11:25 | Really important to option holders/writers how it impacts strike prices. | alphorn
24/1/2021 10:49 | I understand it to be a return of capital after the disposal - also better that way in terms of tax for most holders | janhar
24/1/2021 08:38 | Grahamburn, I think it will be a return of capital due to the circumstances, i.e. a fair chunk of the whole company disposed of. It would certainly help tax wise for me as I do not hold in an ISA. | konradpuss
24/1/2021 08:00 | It seems clear it will be a special dividend (payment) - they have mentioned it in several rns releases | supercity
22/1/2021 15:30 | Agreed as that's the timetable. We know the amount per share (in round figures). The interesting - indeed relevant - part of the detail is the consolidation method and whether the payment will be a "dividend" or "return of capital". | grahamburn
22/1/2021 15:10 | Should get special dividend info on monday. | philanderer
