06/12/2019 18:59 | Own labeled products - what a CON job. Usually I buy CIF cream cleaner. As my local Tesco didn't have any in stock so I decided to buy Tesco own branded cream clear which is around 15% cheaper than the CIF. I used it for the first time today and was shocked at how thin and runny the Tesco own branded cream clear is compared to the CIF. The Tesco cream cleaner is so thin I will most probably have to use twice as much per clean as I would normally do with the CIF. This means that the so called cheaper Tesco cream cleaner is actually around 60% more expensive then the so called more expensive CIF cream cleaner. | loganair

19/11/2019 11:37 | It will benefit someone like my friend who I have just managed to move over from Lidl to Tesco, she spend around £90 at each visit so 10% off two buys plus the other offers available would be worthwhile. For me, an old man living alone, I would never buy enough to make it pay. There are however many who will take it up just on the headline as they do for their silly 3000 texts and unlimited calls a month for £40/50 a month mobile phone deals. | vaneric1
19/11/2019 11:21 | I expect there could be some fireworks when the take-up of their pretty ridiculous clubcard plus offering is announced. Anyone here signed up to pay £8pm to restrict their food shop to Tescos? Doesn't everyone get bombarded with 10% or sometimes 20% off grocery shopping at every supermarket these days? | pierre oreilly

28/10/2019 10:42 | Green fuel move Lidl to install electric vehicle charging points in car parks Terry Murden, Editor | October 28, 2019 Charging to near capacity will take 50 minutes Supermarket group Lidl is spending £25 million to install rapid electric vehicle chargers at all of its new stores. More than 300 Lidl stores will be fitted with chargers over the next three years. This includes existing stores that are able to accommodate the chargers in their car parks. Tesco has a similar project under way in conjunction with Volkswagen. Ingo Fischer, chief development officer for Lidl GB, said: “It is our hope that, through this significant investment, we will enable easier access to charging points, ultimately helping more households switch to electric vehicles.” Lidl’s commitment supports the Government’s plans to deliver a significant increase in quality infrastructure to support ultra-low emission vehicles around the country. The points, which can charge vehicles from 0-80% charge in around 50 mins, will be operated by Pod Point. Chargers will have their own allocated and marked parking bays for use. The company says that whilst leaseholds sites ultimately depend on landlord approval, Lidl will take all possible steps to ensure that agreements are put in place to facilitate installation. Tesco agrees renewables deal Tesco stores will install roof-mounted solar panels on 17 of its stores in a deal with EDF Renewables to take power from two onshore wind farms that will be built in Scotland. Construction at the stores – all in England – is already under way and it will be completed by the end of next year (2020). EDF Renewables will extend the Burnfoot East wind farm in the Clackmannanshire area. The location of the second wind farm will be revealed later. CEO of EDF Renewables UK, Matthieu Hue said: “These exciting projects also demonstrate our ability to develop subsidy free solar and wind in the UK as well as underpinning the important part these technologies play in de- carbonising the UK electricity system to reach the country’s net zero targets by 2050.” | la forge
