Aim value plunges 64% as recession takes its toll

Small-caps heading for the exit

The year-end statistics for the Alternative Investment Market (Aim) make grim reading. The value of London's junior market fell by £60bn during 2008, from £98bn to just £38bn, and the market lost 144 companies (net of admissions) during the year, to leave 1,550 constituents. It wasn't all bad news, though: some 'leavers' were taken over or simply moved up to the main market

Mike Neville's record as a Director is truly apalling. There is a common theme on almost all of the companies that Mike Neville has worked for. The share price has fallen. In most cases to zero.

Brewin Dolphin issued loads of broker's Notes advising investors to buy WTV shares. Look where they are now. Diluted and delisted from AIM, with the help of Brewin Dolphin. Virtually impossible to trade their shares now. WTV shareholders like myself may have effectively lost our investment, however TPH investors have the chance to get out now. Before the inevitable happens.

And yes, I can produce evidence to support the above. I have in my possession a list of Mike Neville's directorships which I have obtained from companies house. These records and others can be obtained from credit search agencies such as creditgate and are available to individuals for a small fee. I would be happy to post it here, if requested.

Ultimately, the outcome of an investment depends upon the people who run the business and their record elsewhere, not technology or the demand for that technology.

spooky...this is still an unknown stock....massively undervalued considering the cash and profit position.....you couldn't get a better balance sheet anywhere right now....but the most amazing thing is, its making this progress in the worst economic downturn in modern times....just think what it will do when the bulls return in 2010 or 2011 and has a pe of 15-20 attached to it...

a merger would be ideal...but at this rate TPH will be able to buy out ECK for cash.

What a business they would be if ECK & THP joined forces. Joining together when both are strong must be good for both parties.

An impressive set of results, with more than £5 million net cash (prior to the recent action) the shares look very cheap. At this level there must be a chance of a takeover approach because the speech sector is hot globally, but the market doesn't appear interested, perhaps they ought to start doing a share buy back.

Telephonetics acquires Eden Origin

Speech recognition firm Telephonetics has acquired Eden Origin Ltd in a deal worth £0.72m in cash plus up to £3m in earn-outs.

Eden is a Dorset-based provider of codeless business solutions with customers including Kier Group, Affinity Sutton, Morrison Facilities Services, Comet and Bournemouth & Hampshire Water.

Telephonetics CEO Anthony Mckay said the acquisition would allow the company to provide a broader range of solutions into existing markets and accelerate sales via its traditional channels.

Eden Origin Ltd acquisition looks interesting.

In the year to 31 August 2008, Eden reported turnover of GBP0.52m and profit before tax of GBP0.12m and as at 31 August 2008 had net assets of GBP0.23m.

Acquisition is valued at about GBP 0.72 million in cash payable on completion subject to a completion account adjustment. Additionally, contingent consideration of up to a further GBP 0.2 million is payable in cash on Eden achieving revenues within the first year of completion of up to GBP 0.7 million.

Up to a further GBP 2.8 million is payable in a mixture of cash and shares over the two years post completion on the achievement of revenue targets of between GBP 1.56 million to GBP 10 million over that period.

Any new shares allotted as consideration will be priced based on the average mid-market price preceding issue subject to a minimum of 10p per share.

LBO - you really talk a load of bull when it comes to the authorites dealing with wrong doing.

spooky, Mike Neville involvment in a host of listed (or former listed) companies has a very poor history. FLX - WTV - Kamera - MNT - CLTV - CPN just to list a few and investors should be made aware of his history and more imo.

BEWARE imo and imo NOBODY should invest in any company that he sits on the board off.

Also, I think it was the CFO that done the deal for WTV between kamera.com that cost stakeholders a lot of money only to see it sold for millions within a short period of time to a US company.

Well as far as the acquisition goes i may be of some help.I know the company and i have seen a demonstration of their technology,it is in a very interesting area, the technology is very powerful and undoubtedly has a lead on any competition.Growth could be fairly dynamic as they ramp up the sales drive and it will also help the penetration of the VIP product offering.Questions about Mike Neville's involvment are very relevant, but i think i can say that his input on this particular acquisition will have been limited.

With £4 million cash,a strong footprint in Health and Local Government and the new acquisition there is every chance that the shares are much too cheap. The management need to prove that they can execute and until they have done that the jury is out.

Is this purchase going to be the one that all small shareholders regret, in the same manner as when WTV under the chair of Mike Neville purchased Kamera and left stakeholders with a huge loss.

LBO - The directors of MNT (that includes Neville) have been named for wrong doing already, as I sure you are aware already, in view of the amount of research you do.

Are you not also surprised that the directors of MNT have not taken legal action against certain posters for the comments they have made on the MNT thread and others about certain directors of that and other companies.

Some might assume you are very close to the company and or its directors from your comments I guess.

BEWARE!!!

Any likely investor should research the history of the board of directors. Do you not also think that this company should have issued a statement about Mike when he was named by offical sources in respect of MNT?
