An incoming windfall tax would knock the share price short term, but longer term TEP is great hold to weather the energy storm

POI

I know it is quite a chunk of change but if you have 1500 TEP shares you get 10% off your utility warehouse bill. Which is handy

How's the £150 and £200 bill saving going to work when you have more than one yep service and only one bill nice saving for all bills on low energy use house?!

Patience. Everyone wants to be a millionaire by Tuesday next. Nothing moves in a straight line. Plus it has had a blistering last 4 months.

The scientific and rigorously well-researched principle of "it has gone up a lot lately so now it has come down a bit" applies here.

The company is the same and will do well ..

Strange price hasn't risen since the big increase in the gas price cap- I would have thought the higher the cap, the more opportunities for UW to win customers and make a decent margin? No?

I'm being well rewarded from my investment in TEP and see no reason not to hold for more capital gain and dividends

It is a fun game but forward-looking estimates are always wrong.

What is certain is that TEP is 'the last man standing' as a viable competitor to The Big six; And being a company that has (a) a unique multi-utility offering and (b) a genuine (if modest) saving for gas/electricity on offer; TEP will definitely be taking a steady stream of customers from The Big six. That is a certainty.

Good hedge for investors against inflation too.

It is my view that the shares will in the months and years ahead (don't know when) go back to the all-time highs and beyond.

Apologies rolo.
The figures are from Morningstar via Interactive Investor.

Figures are 2022, 2023
CFPS 79.80, 93.35
EPS 60.66, 67.89
DPS 57.00, 59.73

It'll be the first time in over 5 years that dividend cover will exceed 1.

Happy New Year all.
Just taken a look at next 2 year's forecast earnings v cashflow and dividend v EPS. Looks very interesting. If these figures materialize then I wonder what they'll do with the spare cash? Pay down debt, special dividends?
All the best.

BEWARE!
I'm a distributor but haven't bothered as the market was swamped.
The middle men have now been killed off as they were of no real use at all.

I'm also a customer and have discovered that EE is a better supplier...
TEP could not provide a landline nor broadband or any internet access when I moved to another address in Surrey. EE supplied a wifi modem (£100) and charge £25/month for unlimited access.

This time it's the mobile that left me high and dry when I got to Calais, something it didn't do two years ago. I had no network so couldn't use WAZE nor call my daughter in Paris to warn her I'd be late if I couldn't find her address. Lucky she's patient as I got to a very difficult address, access-wise, some 90 minutes late, so we solved that problem.

BTW, Also, if you're a customer you will be charged a lot more from Jan 1st for mobile use in Europe thanks to Brexit, if the poxy thing works at all...!

So I made an int'l call on a paying Orange landline and it took 10 minutes to alledgedly solve the problem. However, when trying to access my bank account, the bank sends a passnumber 'cos I'm not on the usual computer. TEP have not enabled the SMS function... so no bank access.

Then when trying to call them, despite int'l calls being "enabled" & having plenty of data left, when I call TEP, my phone says "Not registered on network". In fact every number I try gives me the same answer.

In other words, TEP might benefit from the energy but their telephony is falling apart IMO.
They are, after all, just a reseller...
I'll be seeing EE again when I get back to the UK...

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED - take nothing for granted!
