How many handles have you got?
You’ve not corrected anybody, nobody knows if it was actually a 30% or 47% sell off, you are assuming it was 30%, as I was assuming 47%, but I’m open to either possibility unlike yourself.
Will leave it there as can see you are not exactly open to fact that a Chair is selling a lot of stock (again).
All the best

No, not evaded me at all, I'm just correcting you! In fact, if you'd bothered to look, you will have seen that, given recent history, this is not a great surprise:

November 2021 - he sold 2.5m shares, obviously a bear signal, at, er, £14.50.....

June 2020 - sold 3.2m, obviously a bear signal, at, er, £13.50.....

I would have said, particularly as a Family Foundation is concerned, that reducing a holding is good financial planning, especially if the CGT regime looks to be being tightened up in the future. Always good to have a balanced view!

Thanks for info.So we don't really know then, could be c 30% or 47%, either way the point seems to have evaded you.

We would need to see how much of the 3.5m are non-beneficial shares. As I believe, the 11m includes them.

"‘Non-beneficially held shares’ are a type of share. A trustee holds these for another entity, such as a person or company. This means that they do not hold the shares or benefit from it themselves."

Sorry to correct you, but the 7.42m is his beneficial holding - his total holding was (from the annual report) 11,014,169. The RNS clearly states:

Charles Wigoder (Non-Executive Chairman), the Wigoder Family Foundation and a number of other smaller shareholders including family members of Charles Wigoder (collectively, the "Selling Shareholders") announce that they have sold 3.5 million existing ordinary shares at a price of 2,400 pence per share (the "Placing Shares") in the Company (representing approximately 4.4% of the Company's issued share capital) (the "Placing").

So 3.5m out of his beneficial and non-beneficial holding is 31.8%. In fact the percentage could be even smaller as some of the "other smaller shareholders" may not even be connected to Wigoder.

He held 7.42m and sold 3.5m, which is nearly half or 47.2%, going by Sharepads holdings.

I went on 4.4% and holding was 9.4%. Apologies if not correct, but can you say how you got the 30%.
Thanks

Actually it's just over 30%, but that doesn't sound as dramatic as "nearly half" does it?
Getting the bookbuild away at a 1.5% discount to the closing price was quite encouraging, I thought, shows there's demand there.

£84m is some profit taking!Nearly halving his stake, bet holders taking his lead today wouldn't have said no to £24. Was the recent ride up manipulated......of course not!.

It maybe Wigoder believing the share price has run ahead of itself thereby tempting them to take profits off the table & no one would blame him following wealth created by holding TEP

Sneaky RNS one minute after the closing auction, 4.4% of shares to be sold via placing.

I guess you're suggesting it's well overpriced? I am surprised to see it go so high, and now have a PE ration of 43.72, that's close to Tesla territory and nearly double that of Apple.

Interesting hype?

Telecom Plus will be a consumer winner, says Abrdn
Consumer stocks may be under pressure from the cost-of-living crisis but Abrdn manager Abby Glennie believes multi-utility provider Telecom Plus (TEP) will be a one of the winners.

Telecom Plus is the top holding in Glennie’s Abrdn UK Mid Cap Equity fund, making up 4.3% of the £164m portfolio, and is the second largest holding in her Abrdn UK Smaller Companies fund, where it is 4.4% of the £1.2bn fund.

She said while consumer-facing stocks are struggling, Telecom Plus ‘is a company that may benefit from consumers’ desire to lower energy costs’.

‘Under the Utility Warehouse brand, the business has seen accelerating growth as a record number of UK households join up,’ she said.

‘By the end of September, the total customer base was up by 24%, putting profits materially ahead of expectations. Stronger customer growth means a reduction in the previously expected cost of multi-service discounts.’

Glennie also noted the improved outlook for energy affordability due to the government’s emergency price cap plan.

‘This should be a consumer-friendly business well placed to serve consumers during the cost-of-living crisis,’ she said.

Shares in Telecom Plus closed up 1.6% at £21.95 on Wednesday.

Exceeding expectations is all we wanted to hear & perhaps our dividends will be increased accordingly.
