Dd that's good as this is the time of year when I have a lot of spare cash, This had tippically been over done, but that said the markets tend to crash every 10 years or so,so it was over due
anyway.I have grown bigger balls every time over the years & made a substantial profit from the financial crisis, panick over & this will be no different. There is no point in panicking I have nothing I want to sell only buy at the moment, not a good situation for others & I know I am in a privileged situation where I can afford to take a paper loss but that is only because I take a longer term view than most & never invest money I will need, I have always ensured that my company has 12 months funding in the bank & with all my assets owned outright I can hopefully withstand a bit of pain in the economy although personally I am not expecting any with current orders at record levels. Although interest rates have dropped temporarily I think we will not see them rise for quite a while & this imo in the short term will only fuel house sales a win win situation if you ask me.Martyn9 I would hang on for 1.30 if I were you ,totally f_____g stupid but nothing surprises me anymore.

The UK Market following the US at the moment, strong correlation. The US Markets are testing the FED, and if they crack and drop rates and inject liquidity then I suspect we will see a mini reversal. Although, the damage to confidence is likely done now, and I can't see much in the way of meaningful recovery for a few months.

I'm currently calculating the amount of money I am going to make by investing in the stock market now. Quite a lot!

Looks like we could witness a intra day swing of around 15p. Biggest I can recall, without checking. The market showing its displeasure with respect to the budget for the general builders, only the builders with more focussed affordable housing business units resisting the fallout.

GBH. IMHO, I’ll be surprised if we see any run up to ex div days, and if we do I would expect harder falls immediately after. I think the budget was the last chance of giving the builders a boost, and I’m afraid I can’t see anything else likely to underwrite the share price at the moment. We are adrift without an anchor ...

There will be a recession. We don’t know the path of the coronavirus infections sweeping across the world, nor the effectiveness of the public health measures to combat it, nor the scale of the economic damage it will do, writes Hamish McRae.

But we know one thing. The long expansion of the world economy since 2010 is over. It took a while for the financial markets to realise this, but my word, they know it now.

Three weeks away from the first ex divi date, may hit 190p in the run up, after which I'm hoping for 200p in the run up to the special in May.

Well, I guess we will have to get back to a trading range around the 180's, and maybe up to 190's on a good day. Likely take a couple of months before corona virus blows through and we have a more accurate perspective of actual impact on health and business. At the moment it's all being talked up for the worst case scenario. Good opportunity to acquire some good businesses at decent prices if you are prepared to take a medium term view.

They will go back up at some point ,not really sure there was a need for interest rates to be cut or that it will have any effect.

The Northampton company that I'm "involved" with is very busy, the company currently has more House maintenance, Upgrades & Refurbishments than they can handle.

Whilst they're aware of fact that covid-19 is in their area they're all of an age that should be able to cope with it in much the same way as they would a Flu outbreak.
