02/6/2016 08:26 | Why are people selling when they won't be getting the divi if they are not holding by the close of today?? | baracuda2
01/6/2016 20:31 | gbh2, I was rather hoping it would be 23rd before it closed the gap , by then we will know where we are headed . hope you find the sun . | battue2
01/6/2016 18:27 | battue, as mentioned a few posts ago I'm expecting to see 190 again, but decided to go on holiday until the 23rd, back in time to vote. I'll be on & off advfn but no trading after Friday :) | gbh2
01/6/2016 17:11 | gbh2 very big trading gap at 185 from a couple of weeks ago on good news I think with 9.2p being stripped from the price tomorrow its fairly certain to fill this in the near future and with brexit fears fuelling the volatility there will be plenty of chances of a low entry point .gl | battue2
01/6/2016 17:07 | Was it nationwide figures showing annual slow down in price growth or something else? | lostuser
01/6/2016 16:42 | blood bath... | shaf200
01/6/2016 14:37 | I did and I was selling at 210 the same week, purchased more this morning sub 200p Also increased my VOD & GSK holdings today, nothing left atm ;)) | gbh2
01/6/2016 13:53 | gbh2, thought you posted you bought back at 204p? gl | battue2
01/6/2016 10:16 | I'm still holding but reduced by 50% last week so as to have some cash if the ftse takes a tumble as we approach the 23rd. | gbh2
01/6/2016 09:49 | Morning. Gone for a few pre the XD at just under £2 on a medium term view. | cwa1
01/6/2016 09:18 | All the main builders are down this morning on talk that the "Out" vote is ahead in the polls. | uknighted
01/6/2016 07:57 | i'd not considered that having taken mine last week. | gbh2
31/5/2016 23:15 | ... or profit taking after a good 10% increase. | gbb483
31/5/2016 11:37 | Difficult to tell if we're seeing a bit of a tree shake before buying interest or whether folk are deciding to cash in prior to XD ! | gbh2
30/5/2016 12:55 | Of course, gbh2, we don't know how sustainable the special dividends are in the long term (but BKG and PSN have been delivering for at least 5 years) and these are planned on at least a 2-3 year basis. Nevertheless, as with BKG and PSN they would, in similar circumstances, provide a handsome "yield". NXT is (now was) another good example of specials delivering a "handsome" yield. You too; take care and have a good one ;-)! | sogoesit
30/5/2016 12:50 | "The underlying, earnings related, dividend of 1.67p on EPS of 15p is covered nearly 10 times" A comment I agree with and any reiteration of my point would sound pedantic so on with our day, have a good one. | gbh2
30/5/2016 12:46 | As I say, gbh2, I consider it a quasi-return-of-capi There is a net £223m cash on the balance sheet which they can't, or don't want to, use. That equates to about 7p/share. Like BKG and PSN they now seek to return this. The underlying, earnings related, dividend of 1.67p on EPS of 15p is covered nearly 10 times. (I differentiate, in my investment evaluation, between Dividend Yield and "Yield-on-Investment Does that make sense? PS I understand your (correct) cover calculation, gbh. | sogoesit
30/5/2016 12:41 | UK - I wasn't suggesting it is a %age. sogo - If you take Dividend Cover of 1.5 as what's considered a "safe" indication of Dividend cover, in my estimation the total annual dividend cover is currently sitting nearer 1.2 - Admittedly the Special dividend can be dropped at any time but in the is instance I am including it because 6.5% was mentioned in your original post. Please feel free to correct me if I have the arithmetic wrong? | gbh2
30/5/2016 12:26 | Sure it is gbh2, don't you think? 2015 EPS 15p, dividend 1.67p; future special dividend 9.2p; growing margin, growing revenue. They're just following BKG and PSN; it's a quasi-return of capital. | sogoesit
30/5/2016 12:19 | Gbh2 I don't understand your comment, dividend cover isn't usually denoted by %. | uknighted
30/5/2016 10:06 | "At 210 the forecast yield is still above 6.5%" But is the dividend cover at 6.5% as attractive? | gbh2
27/5/2016 18:15 | At 210 the forecast yield is still above 6.5%. Since that is above my threshold I bought-in at 195 (7% yield) and might add on any pull-back. Massive immigration, whether we like it or not, certainly puts pressure on house prices... to the upside and keeping demand outstripping supply. | sogoesit
27/5/2016 11:32 | Director changes mostly leave me unimpressed, most sound to me as a rearrangement of snouts around the trough. | gbh2 |
