Solid statement from Gleeson this morning underlines the improving housing market across the island.

Looks good around these levels.

I see good 'ol TW has found some more bad news to get worked up about.Doesn't like to miss out if there's some gloom up for grabs.

Frustrating isn't it?

Think there was talk about CGT on selling buy to let properties, at 40%, Cons want this payable above £10,000 profit, where Lib`s are talking above £2,000, just talk at the moment. But I think there are ways around this.

not sure how the budget affects us, if at all? the odd social housing project could get canned I s'pose

but I thought they tended to be more 'section 106' in that build a development, and the developer earmarks a certain percentage as 'affordable housing for key workers' i.e. nurses and so forth..

and then, aren't we more US than UK?

An increase in CGT won't help but there is talk about backdating it to avoid a fire sale.

Thought this was worth a punt this morning, much more stable outlook IMO, I think starting from 35.5 is a good base line, don't see much down side.
