Board Changes

Appointment of Chairman

Taylor Wimpey plc today announces the appointment of Kevin Beeston as
Non-Executive Chairman, following a selection process led by Rob Rowley, Senior
Independent Director, on behalf of the Nomination Committee. Kevin joins the
Board with effect from 1 July 2010 and will take up the role of Chairman on that
date. Kevin will succeed Norman Askew, who announced his intention to stand
down from the Board in December 2009. Norman will step down as Chairman and
leave the Company on 30 June 2010.

Kevin recently stood down as Chairman of Serco Group plc after 25 years with the
company and 8 years as its Chairman. During that time, the company developed
from a small UK technical services business to become a FTSE 100 international
service company. In addition, Kevin has previously held non-executive positions
with industry representative bodies such as the CBI, Chartered Management
Institute and Business in the Community.

Kevin is also currently a Non-Executive Director of IMI plc and Chairman of
three private businesses, Domestic & General Limited, Partnerships in Care
Limited and Infinitas Learning BV. He is a former Non-Executive Director of
Ipswich Town Football Club Plc.

Norman Askew, Chairman, said "I am delighted to welcome Kevin to the Board of
Taylor Wimpey and I know that he will make a valuable contribution to the next
stage of the Company's development".

Kevin Beeston commented "Having spent the majority of my career with Serco
Group, I am looking forward immensely to applying my service experience to
Taylor Wimpey's future strategic direction and development."

Pete Redfern, Group Chief Executive, added "Kevin brings significant experience
of senior management roles within a growing public company and I look forward to
working with him to deliver value to shareholders."
