Don't know why anyone takes any notice of these broker recommendations.

To make money.

420 looks strong long-term support level on the charts.
Not a bad share to hold for the long term and enjoy the compound yield .
Don't know why anyone takes any notice of these broker recommendations. They rarely give good guidance but are used by professionals to drop the price on the days opening and induce some trading volatility .

Yes probably shorted to death as well, could bounce from here once the bears close out.

Happend, back in last spring, when they were promoted too FTSE 100, they just went on a free fall then back in to the 250.

The bears hit it hard, bloody good dividend though... ;-)

Credit Suisse downgraded to neutral from outperform - I haven't seen the price target or analysis yet.

They raised to outperform from neutral and tp 550 from 300 Oct 13th.

Is this a healthy retrace from 480, or is it the beginning of the market running scared...?? :_)

A bit of FTAlphaville today in Markets Live about a lot of TATE shares being lost in the Lehman kerfuffle.

NH:
back to Tate
NH:
it seems a large chunk of the sugar producer
NH:
has gone missing
MJ:
What? missing?
NH:
yep. Harbinger Capital
NH:
the US hedge fund run by the Midas of Misery
NH:
Philip Falcone has lost its stake
NH:
have a look at this
PM:
Dissolved maybe
NH:
came out on RNS today
MJ:
Rather careless really

The RNS states:

The Harbinger Capital Partners Special Situations Fund, L.P. ("Special Fund") held certain shares in the Issuer in an account at Lehman Brothers International (Europe) ("LBIE"). On 15 September 2008, LBIE was placed into administration and four partners of PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP were appointed as joint administrators ("Joint Administrators"). The Joint Administrators have advised that 17,723,884
of the shares have been rehypothecated. The Special Fund believes at this time that rehypothecated shares will not be recoverable. The Joint Administrators have proposed a framework which, if approved, would entitle customers to a claim for the rehypothecated securities valued as of the close of market on 12 September 2008 which would be set off against amounts owed by such customer to LBIE. Accordingly, the Special Fund in this filing has reduced the number of shares of the Issuer held by it to the extent such shares were held at LBIE and were rehypothecated. By making this filing, the Special Fund does not waive any arguments that it is entitled to recover such shares and expressly reserves such arguments. Certain non-rehypothecated shares were also held at LBIE and the timing and likelihood of the return of such shares is uncertain at this time. Subsequent filings may be necessary to address a final determination regarding the disposition of such shares.

So who owns them?

Kraft were mooted to be considering a bid a few years back at the £10 level when tate were around £7 - maybe they're at it again if they give up on cadbury.
Theyd get it a lot cheaper now

Hello balcony
Yes, but you would never know it by this b/board
Is there a bid some where out there? This shares rise seems to be the best kept secret in the world!
I only came across it by accident, looking for a play on the price of sugar.
