31/5/2020 09:41 | >>>PDT Thanks for that (post #8367) I note that in that study they administered the drug SC as indicated for MS (not IV as used by Faron for ARDS). SC administration will deliver the drug to the blood capillary system (rather than the blood venous system) which will result in some unwanted distribution to adjacent tissues around the injection site prior to entering the main vascular system, so intuitively IV should be a better route of administration (compared to SC) for administration to the lungs (where the drug is required), so had the interferon beta been administered via the IV route the outcome may have been even better. Given that inhaled administration should be better than IV which should be better than SC this is certainly encouraging for SNG001 in the COVID studies. | ![]() timbo003
31/5/2020 09:40 | It's funny how irrespective of what certain people post it gets attacked. We haven't even met all of the governments own 5 point plan. The R Rate is unchanged from the day Raab announced it. The danger is passing an R Rate of 1. Do you really think 0.7 - 0.9 is not 1 for all intents and purposes? Especially given the fact that some schools will be back, certain retail is back and houses can start to mix again. I won't bore you with the numerous scientists who advise the government that have been quoted as saying this is too soon. Of course we have to ease at some point but we are not being led by science that you be sure of. Since this began we've considered herd immunity, we still haven't started quarantine of travellers in, large gatherings continued when we knew the infection was here and so and so on. The handling of this pandemic is one of my reasons for my money in SNG. We are nowhere close to the end of this and treatment is vital. | ![]() sainvestor

31/5/2020 09:16 | Whats not true. How many died the day we entered lockdown? And how many dying daily on official easing? Indeed it is true..we leave lockdown with a higher death rate than entered. the infection rate - now assumed at 8000 daily - what was it on lockdown? | ![]() spartan attack

31/5/2020 09:04 | On a more general note, UK is a disaster. As somebody said on news, we are exiting lockdown, on higher death numbers than when we entered it. And true most likely same of infection rates too | ![]() spartan attack
31/5/2020 09:02 | Interesting comment However, if preliminary data are to be believed, some patients have seen a drastic reduction in their symptoms by using it. | ![]() dave444
31/5/2020 08:56 | 30/5/2020 Translation as follows: A special inhaler created by scientists to fight the corona virus, doctors have designed a special type of inhaler to reduce the risk of this infection by several times in the body. This inhaler will act as an even stronger protective shield for asthma patients. Let us now know about it in detail. Haribhoomi30 May 2020 11:11 AM 1 Coronavirus: Corona virus infection is still taking its form of pandemic in the whole world. To prevent its infection, doctors and scientists from all over the world are constantly trying to make the vaccine as soon as possible. Now another relief news has emerged to prevent infection and its danger. Doctors have designed a special type of inhaler to reduce the risk of this infection by several times in the body. This inhaler will act as an even stronger protective shield for asthma patients. Let us now know about it in detail. British scientists have prepared a special team of British scientists to prepare this inhaler after learning about the corona virus infection. Researchers at Southampton University have prepared the inhaler after a long effort. It has also been seen using after which it can go a long way in effectively reducing the serious risk of corona virus infection. How the inhaler will work Also Read - Coconut Ke Fayde: Protects from many viruses You may have seen asthma patients using a special type of inhaler. It is a type of device for transporting sufficient amount of oxygen in our body. In the same way, a special medicine will be used with the help of this inhaler to prevent corona virus infection from causing more harm in the body. This will help prevent the risk of infection. Protection of the lungs Corona virus infection is associated with the respiratory system. After infection, mucus starts accumulating in our respiratory system, due to which slowly we start to have trouble breathing. A special kind of medicine has been used in it. After inhaling it, it will not affect the lungs badly and will also reduce the negative impact of corona virus infection on the lungs to a great extent. This protein has been used by researchers preparing inhalers. It is said that a special type of protein has been used to prepare it. It is called interferon beta protein. After reaching the body, the virus takes a macular form, which will act actively to prevent this protein. The drug used in it has been given special code which is also known as SNG001. According to researchers, this inhaler is in the final stages of the trial, it has been informed that this inhaler is currently being tested which is in the final stage. If it ends successfully, then after that it will be tried to mass produce and reach people. However, if preliminary data are to be believed, some patients have seen a drastic reduction in their symptoms by using it. Permission has currently been granted to use it on patients with corona virus prepared for 120 patient trials. For this, 120 patients have been selected who will be using this inhaler and data will be collected about the occurrence of corona virus infection in their body. | ![]() myst1

31/5/2020 08:50 | I'm not suggesting it will be a success. Albeit in fairness the Chinese had a head start on research I'm trying to point out that now competition will ramp up news feeds etc. And it's going to affect SPs badly in the likes of here over the next few weeks | ![]() spartan attack
31/5/2020 08:47 | Sinovac is a Chinese company. I'll be genuinely interested to see where phase 3 takes place lol. Another issue with a vaccine will be public perception towards it. Not saying most won't take it but these are not normal times. Doesn't change my opinion on the need for treatments for now and in the future. | ![]() sainvestor
31/5/2020 08:37 | Sinovac on way to uk or EU for getting credible final phase trial . They are 99% sure the vaccine will work and have already built a manufacturing plant for it . They produce now so the quantities are in place for global distribution on passing phase 3 .... This is the sort of news going go come daily, hitting AIM companies and similar | ![]() spartan attack
31/5/2020 08:34 | Plus of course iv interferon beta is less likely to work than inhaled IMHO. | ![]() nobbygnome
31/5/2020 08:26 | Well it's in a different group of patients than those in SG016. These are much more severe patients who are being mechanically ventilated, the type of patient who are excluded from SG016. In addition, the high use of corticosteroids will have had an effect because it has been previously shown that they affect interferon beta use. Faron had a problem with this in one of their trials. For that reason use of corticosteroids was excluded in the COPD trial which was a very astute move. Now that is not an exclusion criteria in SG016 because I suspect they didn't want to restrict the number of patients. However, the use of corticosteroids would not have been high as their usage is becoming increasingly controversial in this setting. | ![]() nobbygnome
