It can open at any price - but the gain (& %age gain) for the day will be based off the previous Closing share price

So, on Tuesday if it opens at 53.00p it will show a gain of 2.00p for the day. If it rises to 54.00p it will show a gain of 3p. If it drops to 51p it will show a gain of 0p............etc

But all the gains (or losses) will be based off 51p.

That's exactly what will happen at 53.5p - even though that was where it was trading at 1629.59 & it would really be trading flat.
Even at 51.01p it will still be showing as up .01p even though the reality is that it would be minus 2.499p.

Toffeeman, as far as I'm aware the share price will open at 51p unless we have any action in the pre market auction.I'm sure that's how it works but will keep your predicted opening price in mind to see if you are right.
