Seems to be a stand-off between seller with apparent endless stock to sell and buyers unwilling to play ball.

Lth,s in the background peachy, but without some news or media coverage there is not much more to say. This board has been so informative that there is little more to be covered now. BOD need to get some news out there.

I can not see a successful vaccine appearing, I certainly would not take one. It could cause more harm than good. Lots of testing should be required.
SNG, could have a very good chance of success.

UK Business Secretary @AlokSharma_RDG referenced the ACCORD collaborative during today's UK government #COVID19 briefing. Clinical academic lead to accelerate drugs aimed at treating the virus is @ProfWilko @unisouthampton @UHSFT. More here ? https://t.co/3BXlIOxNwm https://t.co/keiB25ygFv

The phase III for the Moderna vaccine won't start until July at the earliest. No way it will be available in scale until next year.

Sound like politicians playing politics and giving false hope. Trump needs something to bolster his rating going into an election and he will grasp at anything that gives him an edge.

The detail within the vaccine candidates shows just how desperate Governments are for something that "moves the needle" positively at all.

Of course a successful therapy would do that...

Also, the UK’s Oxford Vaccine candidate trial does not seem like a positive result at all as it failed to stop infection transmission in the monkeys, and although the trial is currently progressing I am left wondering why.

It looks increasingly like a UK government political project to say we are doing something and is unlikely to deliver the vaccine the world can depend on.

Here is the Telegraph link:

The MRNA USA vaccine candidate (on closer inspection) looks less hopeful than its headlines: This from the FT article today:

"There were just 45 participants for the early stage, and the data on antibodies was only available for eight of those.

The study participants, aged between 18 and 55, received two doses of the vaccine. Two weeks following the second dose, those on the lowest dose showed the same level of antibodies seen in recovered patients. The group on an increased dose showed higher levels.

“I’m really thrilled,” Mr Bancel told the Financial Times. “What is really special about mRNA technology is we have pushed it to a place where more antibodies are made than a natural infection so it should provide a long immunity.”

He believed Moderna could start a large phase three trial in July, as the phase two trial was starting shortly. The third trial will need to include thousands of participants, to demonstrate safety and efficacy across a large population.

Mr Bancel said even if the vaccine showed an efficacy rate as low as 60 or 70 per cent, it could be useful in stopping the replication rate of the virus. The third trial would probably be conducted at sites around the world, as it was hard to predict where an outbreak of Covid-19 would occur at that time.

That larger final trial could give results by the end of the year."

I know the market has gotten excited by the news of a potential vaccine. I would point out, it's VERY limited size to date and there is still no evidence that it or having antibodies, gives any immunity or limited immunity.

As such a cure or a treatment that improves the condition will remain invaluable.

8017,

that may be your interpretation of what's between the lines but mine is that I'm here to bolster my pension, that will happen if SNG succeeds. The vaccine views is not about wanting it to fail but a disbelief that you could test a vaccine in that time frame which would be proven to be safe and effective via a rigorous process. It just doesn't seem to add up.

Not from my perspective...I consider the current urgency placed upon scientists to be potentially dangerous. Most specialists on the news approach the forecasts with caution. Look up Gulf War Syndrome to see what effects hastily prepared vaccines can cause. I hope there will be a vaccine to enable us to return to normality and save countless lives.

Reading between the lines of much that has been posted here earlier today, I can't help feeling the general consensus is "fingers crossed the vaccine(s) fail(s) - more potential demand for SNG001 etc".

Is this what we're reduced to?
