Some way of expiring the sell off by Link....

Mixed results for Link selling down Woodford listed stakes

When it comes to listed holdings, regulatory filings show Link has divested notifiable stakes in respiratory drug discovery business Synairgen and ailing mattress retailer Eve Sleep.

The biotech business represents some rare good news for the portfolio amid the coronavirus outbreak with stocks up tenfold from 2019 as it began initial trials on an inhalant to treat patients with Covid-19. Link initially reduced its stake in the Southampton business from 19.5% to 17.7% on 30 March. Link cut its stake again on 15 April to 14.3% when its shares were trading around 70p.

Unlike hydroxychloroquine, interferon has no cardiac toxicity.
A formula and a therapeutic protocol already in place

Aurélien Mary and his colleagues have already successfully aerosolized existing forms of interferon. "The excipients (the compounds accompanying the interferon in the powder) are suitable for the inhaled route," he explains.

In collaboration with my infectious disease and resuscitation colleagues, we have established a therapeutic protocol.
They will also use the combination lopinavir / ritonavir, a long-used treatment. The study is planned with a 3: 1 ratio. This means that 3 patients will receive inhaled interferon + lopinavir / ritonavir when 1 patient will receive lopinavir / ritonavir alone. This is to highlight the supposed efficacy of inhaled interferon, of which Aurélien Mary is already convinced.

Supporting the development of inhaled interferon is potentially saving lives from Covid-19.
In a message published on April 11 on his twitter account, he launched a call:

Help us prove it!

To date, apart from the treatment of symptoms, there are no proven therapies to fight Covid-19 today. "There wouldn't be all the controversy around the subject otherwise," he explains. However, to defeat the virus, it is necessary to find and then demonstrate the effectiveness of drugs, to make it a state strategy.

The Chinese medical authorities were the first to be confronted with the virus. At the top of their list of recommendations for treatment of Covid-19 is a cytokine: inhaled interferon.
If its name does not say anything to the general public, it is according to Aurélien mary that this substance was completely overshadowed by the "buzz of choloroquine". He is on the reservation as for this molecule. "According to a study by the New England Journal of Medicine, hydroxychloroquine could worsen the condition of patients with Covid-19. His conclusion is clear:

There is an urgent need to find a better solution.

The very promising potential of interferon

Interferon is a natural substance in the body that helps cells defend themselves against viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, which is responsible for Covid-19 disease. "It's a kind of anti-viral shield," says Aurélien Mary. According to him, its effectiveness could be very important:

Inhaled interferon has the potential to reduce Covid-19 mortality by up to 50%.
According to Chinese studies, it allows the virus to be eliminated in 7 days for mild forms, and up to 15 days for the most severe forms. "In Shanghai, researchers have shown that inhaled interferon (coupled with an antiviral) does not require the addition of hydroxychloroquine to be more effective. "

"Interferon, when inhaled, has very good tolerance, based on Chinese and Cuban experience, as well as that of the British company Synairgen. In particular because it acts locally, "thinks Aurélien Mary. It is therefore preferable, according to this specialist, to develop this substance in the form of an aerosol. The pharmacist says

Hi Nobbygnome

Hope you had a good day.

Cash was made at GDR and CTEA

Purely from a bystander view, the world death rate here from covid19 could be around 4-5%
My recent reading taught me that in the 1600 hundreds some villages in the UK with plague hade death rates of 90 to 95 %.
But that was 400 years ago
But Ebola , or I believe something even nastier called Margburg? , could even this year have a mortality rate of 60 -80% .

But they are not air-borne , and harder to catch, but what would happen in our modern world if suddenly they did jump various barriers and became as contagious as Covid 19,

The Cak and panic would surely hit the fan big time, ?

Or is that too simplistic and very unlikely to happen??

Thank you

My daughter in law is a NHS physiotherapist. She and her colleagues have been drafted into a Covid wardThat was last week.. Five patients have died during this time. There is a 21 year old on the ward who is going to die. Other patients seem to be recovering but hours later they die....very strangeIt brings home to me just how important the covid trial results are.

You do not have to be quiet. I took no offence from your post. Delayed trades allow the MM's to manage their positions. I am able to guess the direction of the share price at the moment I want to buy or sell based on the price I am offered relative to the share price at the time. However, as I and Likya have pointed out the share price is meaningless if you believe in the data and the research. My belief is the share price will be higher than it currently is and I have put my money where my mouth is.

Ok vitec thanks. Still learning, just appears to take blocks of buying to push the price up and then falls back on the slightest bit of selling.Obviously reported trades are only guesses based on bid/offer price at the time. Will be quiet now for a while. Lol.

MM's make their money buying and selling and balancing their books. They do not take risks accumalating on the basis of an outcome of a trial.

Convinced this is mm,s acquiring shares ready for the demand in the coming days/weeks.Perceived buy/sell ratio plus low volume doesn't equate to a 11% fall ???
