Don't know, just seems as if someone is building a position slowly and carefully, without wanting to push the share price too quickly. Maybe possible contract negotiations are at last progressing well in an overseas market or someone sees SYM as a possible target or just see it as a cheap investment. Sorry pure speculation but just feels like something, just don't know what. And it may be that nothing is happening - but we haven't seen this type of activity in SYM over the past 6-12 months, since I invested and have been following.

It's not the house broker that is pushing, there must be a big order or orders in which are soaking up the sells. The buy orders appear to be slowly increasing their price levels and also appear to be trying to keep daily volumes around the average. Something going on here.

I think he means the 'sells' are being absorbed by the house broker and that along with the late reported trades suggests they have an order to fill.

Do you think Cantor are accumulating for someone ? MM's haven't been willing to hold any level of stock in SYM for a while. I really hope our time has finally come. There have been more false starts than a school sports day but something feels different this time. Let's hope their association with JJ is raising their game and a little Management Mentoring is taking place.

Symphony Environmental Technology Opens New Laboratory Facilities Released: 21/05/2014 09:45:00

The new laboratory facilities recently announced by Symphony Environmental Technologies were officially opened last week by the Mayor of Borehamwood during the company's international distributors' conference.

The new facilities were designed to integrate the company's R&D and testing facilities under one roof and are among the most up-to-date in the industry.

They will be used to increase Symphony's capabilities in molecular spectroscopy (which analyses the elemental contents of plastic); to run artificial ageing tests which calculate the effects of sunlight and heat on degradation and to produce trial samples of additive to ensure consistency of quality, especially for the bespoke work needed for special applications. .

They will also provide more efficient facilities for advanced research into 'smart' plastics across Symphony's three main areas of expertise: controlled-life technology which converts plastic into a biodegradable material, healthcare plastics (using anti-microbial/ bacterial and anti-mosquito/insecticide additives) and anti-counterfeiting systems to protect branded packaging.

The company, which is based in Borehamwood, Herts, has gained wide recognition for the quality of its R&D and planned its new facilities after establishing a presence in more than 90 countries.

"We invest in scientific and technical excellence," says Michael Laurier, Symphony's CEO, "and we believe we are not only the market leader in 'smart' plastics, but also the technical leader in this very specialised sector."

Robert, I'm sorry to hear you invested so much at such a high price. I think a case of right choice but, wrong time. If you are still holding ,I believe you'll be back to evens next year and in profit the year after so, try to hang on a while yet

Robert .. i'll calm down a bit :-)
This is taking a little longer than I had anticipated but, there are growing reasons for optimism this year and subsequent years - several of which have been touched on in recent news items.
The company, despite its inability to profitably capitalise on the UK market, is growing in its global reach through its distributors. I am more than happy to see the company focus on brand & product development in the uk (thereby increasing the value of the real assets in the business) & let its Distributor network do the sales spadework.
IP & Brand are what this company could and should be about & I believe the Board appreciate this now. If they can couple this with an ability to leverage the scale efficiencies from the distributor sales pipeline then, profits could very quickly escalate from hereon.
They've got a healthy 'pipe' now to flow product through .... keep growing the product range and the pipe will deliver handsome profits, imo.
Much to look forward to in the next 2-3 years and I've been persuaded to increase my holding of late in expectation. I expect maiden divi in 2016

Nice to see a continual share price increase over last few days. Wonder if at the end of the distributor conference we will get a Trading Update. Hopefully, the distributors are able to update management on current trading and current prospects.

Breakout at last and let's hope for some positive press in the coming days. Not quite ready to celebrate yet but worth researching party venues perhaps !
