Interesting section from Proactive Investor from 2014.

Yet with a valuation of just £14mln, you sense this stock has some way further to go, particularly if chief executive Michael Laurier and his team can tap into the multi-billion dollar market for the company’s products.

New investor Somerston Environmental Technologies certainly seems to get the story. It recently acquired 15mln shares in Symphony at a then 22% premium to the prevailing stock price, and the CEO himself bought 750,000 new shares at the same price.

It was done as part of a fundraise that brought in almost £1.6mln that will repay all the high-cost debt and bankroll the commercial assault on three major markets.

“The only biodegradable alternative to our product is crop-based,” said Laurier(HELLO HAS FORGOTTEN WELLS PLASTICS OR EPI?)

While Symphony’s biodegradable product is the most advanced (IS IT?), its antimicrobial additiveis also gaining some traction.

Symphony developed it for plastics with Janssens Pharmaceutica and has a five-year supply and marketing agreement with the Johnson & Johnson unit. “You effectively have a multibillion pound company endorsing Symphony,” said Laurier.

And as Laurier pointed out: “When you start looking at an anti-fungal for washing machines, fridges and air conditioning and water pipes it becomes very interesting to imagine where it can be used.”

And as Laurier points out, Symphony is operationally geared, which means a significant slug of any new sales will fall straight to the bottom line.

“That’s the beauty of our business model. Once we have covered our overheads … 50% of the revenues fall to the bottom line.” ("HAS THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED?)

neilrr I am so glad I got out of this stock albeit at a loss. Would concur with your sentiments. Surely Somerston cannot be too happy with their investment.

Still going backwards - nothing changes. I wonder how long Somerston will allow this to continue and if they have the wherewithal to make the sweeping top management changes that are so massively overdue.

Neilrr you must joking, retire at 65! Look at the vice chairman born in 1942 and still going strong earning in excess of £150k per annum. Another investor found to prop up the ATM in the boardroom. It will only be a matter of time before the authorities will take an interest in this shabby lot imho. I have enjoyed your posts which I will follow with interest.

I have finally sold out of this useless investment after 10 years of hoping that d2w would change the world. Unfortunately it was not to be due in the whole to this useless board promising jam tomorrow. I wish all you long suffering investors the best of luck. I am off to better pastures with decent and transparent board members.
Bye bye

neilrr just goes to show what a sham this whole company is. Surely the Authorities should take them to task. Sack Chairman/Vice Chairman, CEO I have good reason for making the statement.

Another crass judgement (as if more proof of inadequacy were needed). Whatever Michael Stephens' weaknesses, I suspect that SYM are acutely aware of what he knows and the damage he could do if he were so minded.Noses back to the trough.....

I thought he was one of the most persuasive speakers, and English not his native language.
Clearly very focussed on listening to exactly what their customers want.
They seem a long way ahead of other system integrators and also capable of putting out very, very nice looking product

we will have to wait and see encarter .. could be news that has leaked out at Hannover, in M-Field's enthusiasm for their progress & sales, ahead of scheduled release to the market by ACTA.
Whatever the details, it is great news for ACTA in terms of sales and also further product uptake by a partner

SYM & ML have been very quiet on the topics below.

Anyone care to hazard a guess?

How many tire shredding machines have been sold?

How many secret ingredient detectors have they now sold?

How are USA sales?

It's over £2m they have raised at 10p now in the last 7 months from Somerton & the Directors have all waded in to.Directors now hold over 18% and Somerton and co 17% + their Warrants. They must have a strong reason to be raising money like this in this pattern. Somerton's seat on the board will also help ensure it is not frittered away either.Forced to conclude that there are some developments here yet to be revealed.

Yes, it's pretty impressive. Not sure how much to read into the warrants, but i guess it helps.

Somerston must really like what they see here to invest further. Perhaps we will all get to see the bigger picture soon !

Actually I think it has got to a stage where something will be done - austerity agenda beginning to fade so can think about less dramatic stuff. The litter agenda potentially helps SYM but only if people think realistically. Personally I think it needs (1) trying to change people's attitude to dropping litter; (2) collect as much as possible; (3) recognise some litter will never be collected (esp if gets in water)and needs to degrade in the open environment (which is where SYM comes in). Recycling plastic is nice but for much is probably uneconomic so for a lot best to incinerate to get energy recovery. Politicians seem a long way from this at the moment but if they do it should work for SYM.

all sounds good houndo. It would be nice to think a head of steam is building, but something (reality) tells me that's just wishful thinking.
