17/11/2014 13:53 | £500k private loan - What interest was paid on that?...2% per month? Good timing more funds for the ATM towards last years remuneration of £871k. Sincerely hope that the new board additions will get rid of the useless Chairman and Vice Chairman. | robertnash2
17/11/2014 13:38 | added modestly today, at 11% below the placing price and 40% below the Warrant price. Market seems to be napping at present on the news. | mattjos
17/11/2014 11:27 | This also looks very positive to me, particularly the seat on the Board arrangement. Doesn't look to me like they will be intending merely to try and skim a small % gain on their investment. Cleans up the o/s debt issues and the Warrant price is some 80% higher than yesterday's closing price. | mattjos
17/11/2014 10:51 | This looks quite positive. They are raising a fair amount of money at a decent price. Hopefully this is to fund working capital on the back of anticipated higher sales. Laurier is also buying in. I was struck by the fact that the name of the investing company is Somerston Environmental Technologies Limited - mirroring SYM's name. My guess is that this is a shell SPV based in Jersey (can't find it in Companies House) rather than an existing environmental business. Somerston appears to be a PE type group which has made its money in real estate and is now investing capital/profits elsewhere. So this is not a straight investment out of Somerston Capital. It could well be that there are tax reasons for doing it this way but it may be the structure points to a broader ultimate agenda Now that the Quindell saga is drawing to a close TW/Shareprophets will now have time to comment? | hounddog10
17/11/2014 09:25 | The most encouraging news is the appointment of an apparently independent Director. In this respect, however, I wonder what happened to Lord Callanan whose appointment was announced by SYM in November but, unless I am mistaken, was never part of an RNS. As an ex MEP, his joining the Board would have been cause for much less optimism. I'm also hoping that Somerston has an agenda - if they are looking for growth then something will have to change radically. | poftie
17/11/2014 08:03 | This mangement is so predictable my post from 6th November "......The timing of the RNS has been well orchestrated to coincide with Equity Development Investor Forum on 19th November, Sym must be low on cash, what better way to try and raise some investment imho". It is the same old story, investment needed to keep the ATM topped up, financial year end approaching therefore they need their salaries. The same old story..............w | robertnash2
17/11/2014 07:22 | Hopefully ML was bounced into the RNS by the regulator as the previous arrangement was wholly inappropriate and blatantly self serving. | begorrah88
13/11/2014 22:29 | Mattjos agreed! Transparency from the Chairman of OPA would be a better way forward imho | robertnash2
13/11/2014 22:01 | One commercial pressure group v another using politics to try and achieve their own gaols | mattjos
13/11/2014 21:44 | Thank you Mattjos your post is quite interesting for the simple reason that the OPA is a biased organisation having Michael Stephen as it's Chairman and Ian Bristow as Company Secretary both being board directors of Symphony Environmental Technologies Plc. See below....I rest my case your honour. The Oxo-biodegradable Plastics Association (OPA), speaking on behalf of Symphony, said the European Parliament's proposed oxo-biodegradable plastic ban followed lobbying from "a large Italian company with close links to the Italian government". "They see oxo-biodegradable plastic as a serious competitor," it said, adding that scientific research proved the environmental credentials of oxo-biodegradable technology. Marco Versari, president of industry group Assobioplastiche, which includes Novamont, said the parliament's proposal had the support of many member states. | robertnash2
07/11/2014 10:27 | I have a holding in Prezzo Restaurants (AIM), their profit year ending 2013 was £18.5m the Board of Directors total remuneration was £571,000. A note to Deva and Laurier, please clean up your act (a) salaries should be based on results and (b)paying 2% interest per month on a loan from a Directors wife is unacceptable. Is it not about time that the ATM maching in the boardroom is switched off? | robertnash2
06/11/2014 12:50 | Weekly chart shows a succession of higher lows & higher highs for the last 23 months. What's problem exactly ? | mattjos
06/11/2014 12:28 | My thoughts on this latest puff are 1) I can't think of a single announcement over the last decade or more which has come to fruition in delivering profits so cynicism is far more appropriate than optimism 2) SYM have not commented on mattjos post 4587 which looks pretty serious and significant to me - I am assuming that the RNS about a huge launch in the USA was also one that has come to nothing so any negative news from the USA is therefore not commercially important. | poftie
06/11/2014 11:28 | Great news about Janssen, hopefully it will not be jam tomorrow but jam today, time will tell. The timing of the RNS has been well orchestrated to coincide with Equity Development Investor Forum on 19th November, Sym must be low on cash, what better way to try and raise some investment imho. | robertnash2
05/11/2014 22:07 | SANAFOR™ controls the growth of microorganisms on plastic surfaces, providing long-lasting protection against bacteria, fungi (mold and mildew) and algae that can cause stains, odor and product degradation. "With today's heightened awareness of the impact of germs in our environment, the inclusion of SANAFOR™ differentiates plastic products by adding value and functionality," says Dave Helmer, director of sales and marketing at Janssen PMP. "SANAFOR™ is safe and easy to use, and its EPA registration gives manufacturers assurance of regulatory compliance." SANAFOR™ is applicable to a broad range of products in the automotive, industrial, healthcare, textiles, footwear and home and leisure industries – from building materials and appliances to bedding and upholstery containing polyolefins. SANAFOR™ is easily added during polymer processing and has no impact on the mechanical properties of the plastic. It also provides good thermal stability and has low-water solubility, limiting migration from the plastic. "Silver-based additives have often been used as antimicrobials, but they only actively protect against bacteria and can be cost prohibitive," adds Helmer. "SANAFOR™ is a cost-effective option that offers durable, broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection against bacteria, mold, mildew and algae." | bbd2
05/11/2014 15:06 | Brilliant news but must admit to a little sigh of relief as I was getting a bit worried about the JJ deal. An established sales route through the JJ networks will be very welcome. As expected in a commercial setting, no figures released which although is frustrating for investors is not at all unexpected. | bbd2
05/11/2014 14:25 | Martin Callanan former MEP joins SYM. RE. Oxo-degradable/Oxo-f | mirabilis2
04/11/2014 11:44 | If you would like to see Michael Laurier, CEO, present on behalf of Symphony, with the opportunity to ask him questions please follow the link below. The forum will be held on 19th November from 5pm, registration is free. Other companies also presenting are KBC Advanced Technologies and Keywords Studios. Thanks, The Equity Development Team | hannahh
03/11/2014 16:58 | Mattjos thank you for this interesting article. I am somewhat surprised that neither Mr Stephen (Chairman) or Mr Bristow (Company Secretary) of The Oxo Biodegradable Association have had the decency to respond to your post? | robertnash2
23/10/2014 08:53 | Quote Michael Laurier CEO of SET Plc "Our long-term business strategy is working and the foundations established for a more rapid and stronger performance going forward. Our business model has been about investing for the future and aiming for more than ordinary performance". It has been a "MORE THAN ORDINARY PERFORMANCE" wonderful words. In April 2014 the share price peaked at 11.25p six months later it is at 6.63p. Jam tomorrow?........hol | robertnash2
09/10/2014 09:36 | Couldn't agree more with the last two posts...... | mr eels |
