12/6/2024 21:50 | Crazy foolVaping burns holes in your lungs, likelyto cause heavy breathing and potentially heart attack. Also you look stupid.Ban expected. Same for high energy drinks | muffster
12/6/2024 18:39 | saw a guy buying a 50 gram pouch of golden Virginia earlier - 23 English pounds !! think it was half the price when I used to smoke that rubbish. So glad I switched to vaping about 15 years ago now - ok I'm still addicted to nicotine but I like a coffee too, certainly much fitter and healthy now I don't smoke, and more money in my pocket too !! | danb45
12/6/2024 12:34 | It's not so much about what is in Labour's manifesto it's what they actually do when in power that matters! But yes, I get your point....who cares about The Conservative manifesto.....or indeed anything The Conservative party says now. I expect that when Labour are in charge they will come to quite like the tax revenues from vapes and tobacco. As it pays for all the lovely 'plans' they have but aren't telling you about. They might tax it a bit more but who cares? You could double the tax on vapes and people would still pay for it. Vaping is still about 1/10th the cost of smoking. From SUP's point of view, more tax on vapes doesn't impact them much. They are one of the cheapest on the market. Their strategy is a numbers game - acquire as many brand loyal customers as possible. The more customers they get the more valuable they are. | gb904150
12/6/2024 11:31 | It's what's in Labours manifesto that will matter. | boonboon
12/6/2024 11:31 | I could believe it if the conservatives weren't 25/1 with the bookies But every bit of positive helps | basem1
12/6/2024 11:24 | Just reading that in the conservative manifesto the recent policy regarding the gradual ban on tobacco and a crackdown on vape sales which is linked to Sunak has been left out. Maybe the reason for today's move? | clanger66
12/6/2024 11:21 | Hopefully a nice increase in the dividend too as I have some in my ISA too | basem1
12/6/2024 11:20 | Yes, thx for correction ? | cheaky monkey

23/5/2024 21:06 | Further update from UKVIA The UK Vaping Industry Association is pleased to see that common sense has prevailed and that the Tobacco and Vapes Bill will almost certainly not be rushed through the legislative process, prior to the Election.Since the Bill was announced, the UKVIA has maintained that the measures it contains could have such potentially grave impacts on the health of both smokers and vapers that it requires extremely careful consideration. The General Election gives everyone time to pause, take stock, and should this Bill be reintroduced once a new government is formed after July 4 we will continue to engage with whoever is in power.Whatever happens, the UKVIA remains committed to ensuring that adult smokers and vapers continue to have excellent access to the vaping products and flavours they require to keep them off cigarettes while protecting those underage from ever startinghttps://ukvi | actscap
23/5/2024 17:23 | I think we were in a better position to deal with the regulations than competitors so I don't think it's necessarily a positive. For example part of the legislation was spend money on dealing with illegal vapes so that's also going to be delayed. | boonboon
23/5/2024 15:39 | It would be helpful, but not transformative. Upside is the cashflow of that delay. Their disclosure is decent so should be able to calcluate it. Bit surprised that the share price wasnt up today | adamb1978
23/5/2024 14:23 | I think, given they've already engaged with the business community, there shouldn't be any material changes to the bill once it's reintroduced in the next parliamentary. Reintroduction of the bill is a safe working assumption as it got wide cross party support in current parliament. So all else equal, a half year to one year delay to implementation would be a positive for supreme and other vape sellers. | actscap
23/5/2024 14:13 | It has officially been ditched, surprised not more reaction in market. Means at the v least a significant delay to the introduction of the ban | actscap
23/5/2024 05:21 | Tories have neutered labour on vaping already by being proactiveThe only thing labour could do to differentiate on vaping is start talking up extremes like the banning route or extreme taxesWhen you look at data on vaping (ie how popular it is among voters), that would be unnecessary risk for the side who basically just need to avoid doing anything stupid to bring in the win | hammergaumet
22/5/2024 19:56 | So increased risk of uncertainty ahead, particularly given the significant labour majority that is expected. But every cloud....legislation is unlikely to receive royal assent until late 2024 or first half 2025. This will mean the anticipated ban on disposables could be pushed into 2026 esp allowing for transition periods. | actscap
22/5/2024 19:49 | So, consequences.....Bil | actscap
22/5/2024 19:40 | Some useful reading https://www.parallel | actscap
22/5/2024 19:39 | Given the bill has yet to make it through the lords first reading, I think it likely to fall | actscap
22/5/2024 19:35 | This essentially means the bill has to pass by dissolution on May 30 | actscap |
