07/1/2023 16:44 | FWIW - Steppe Cement tipped in TMF: "Analysts at the UN think almost 70% of the country’s population will be living in towns and cities by 2050. That compares with less than 59% last year. Based on these projections, the amount of cement Kazakh builders need will leap over the coming decades" | bluemango
07/1/2023 10:04 | 15.5p in dividends so far, with the pre-IPO 1p makes 16.5p, free and clear and possibly another 7p for 2022 will be 23.5p all up, with a share price of less than 50p, makes no sense, the share price should be at least GBP1, if not much more. | wilo101
05/1/2023 20:21 | I would only start being remotely tempted to sell here, if the price rose enough to make the yield drop to around 7%. At 5p dividend, that's 71.4p. At 6p dividend, it's 85.7p. | bluemango
05/1/2023 15:30 | Dividends have been: 2018 1p for 2017 2019 3p for 2018 2020 4p for 2019 2021 2.5p for 2020 2022 5p for 2021 2023 7p for 2022? | wilo101
05/1/2023 15:01 | Maybe finally have caught the attention of new investors here......... after the div and last weeks climbs. Hello, here we are, whatever is happening in the world's economy The Kazahk still needs plenty of cement. Safer than houses, because even they sometimes need rebuilt. | finctastic

03/1/2023 09:08 | indeed: "Steppe Cement (STCM Malaysian-incorporat London’s more unique listings, but its impressive financial performance continues to defy market expectations. In the first half of 2022, the company shrugged off inflationary pressures and rising production costs to report a 65% increase in profits to $10.2m. That momentum has continued in the second half of the year. A third quarter trading update (bizarrely released just one week after the half year numbers) revealed that revenues rose 13% in the first nine months. In the second half of 2022, Steppe’s shares outperformed the FTSE All Share by 35%. Steppe Cement boasts a strong track record of profitability: the average ROCE and ROE over the last 5 year period stand at 18% and 15.8% respectively. Those profits are efficiently converted to cash which has historically been distributed to shareholders in the form of a generous dividend handout. But Malaysia’s new regulation on foreign sourced dividend income forced the company to withhold its dividend payout this year and evaluate other means of returning capital to shareholders. This has since been resolved, but it highlights the risks involved with investing in foreign domiciled companies." | mattjos

28/12/2022 11:12 | Those liking Kazakhstan as a region for investment, plus favouring yield even if it means taking on an element of risk, might want to take a look at CASP, a tiny oiler paying a monthly dividend - near 13% annualised. elpirata - might be your kind of punt? | bluemango
23/12/2022 16:16 | Nice close, well above 50p with the divi. Hopefully we can cement the gains into the new year. Teehee. Merry Christmas to all. | stun12
22/12/2022 11:10 | I did ask on the 24th Nov but have had no response. I am not worried about it enough to chase up an answer. They have responded to my emails in the past, I am assuming they thought it was a stupid question :-) Hi IR Team, Thanks for the update and I have seen the rns I see the upcoming divi is not subject to Malaysian tax which is fantastic How are you sure that the Malaysian govt will not interpret differently and then impose this tax retrospectively? Feel free just to tell me, "I am worrying unessarily" :-) the brevity of the rns has just spooked me slightly Thanks for your time Much appreciated On Wed, 9 Nov 2022, 15:23 , wrote: Thanks for your help We have analised all information available and moved forward. I note there is New Malaysian Dividend Tax guidance published 28th September I expect you have already seen it and know more than I do, however... I just thought I'd forward it on incase it helps with the pending dividend Kind regards | return_of_the_apeman
18/12/2022 20:46 | I think that's most likely. Unfortunately they haven't told us precisely what happened, so it's not entirely clear. I assume the tax issue is resolved, but I guess we need to wait for the full year for confirmation | leopoldalcox |
