I may buy more tomorrow but not sure which way Ggp will go after the Newcrest quarterly update. A lot of potential good news may possibly be already built into the price. The sell on news briggade might be in force and could take some profits off the table.

My limit order was partially filled
after closing, 100k at 8 pence.

That was me. Up to 50% of any special dividend would be distributed to shareholders.

Agree. I believe someone posted that the
Starvest management are committed to at
least partial distribution of proceeds of
GGP takeover.

Well, I decided rightly or wrongly to sell all my shares in GGP today and buy more of these. I bought at 8.25p but I've calculated that for each share I buy in SVE I am buying approximately 1.6 shares in GGP but also get all their other holdings thrown in. The only problem is this share is not as liquid as GBP and has a larger spread. However if you take the view that GGP will be bought out at some point in the near future by Newcrest Mining then I feel that buying SVE is a no brainer as it's likely that SVE will probably distribute proceeds as a special dividend. I may be wrong but it's one possible scenario.

Well it's make your mind up day today. The Newcrest Mining Quarterly report will be released at 11pm tonight and will almost certainly be followed by a GGP RNS tomorrow.

I've just had a re-read of the following:

and

I'm most definitely staying put with my 1.55m share holding.

I'm confident that the latest drilling results from Havieron will provide further evidence that there is a significant resource there. The question is just how big that will turn out to be.

GGP update in a day or two should move
the price one way or another.

GGP at 9.15p now gives a NAV/share of 15p.

I reckon a minimum of 15p with the potential for a lot more if Havieron is a 20M+ Oz find. If it was 15p, the special dividend could be approx 11p so definitely good money to be made here.

AAU (currently worth 1p/share at 3.3p) is also a good investment as well and I've got a feeling CORA might be good in the longer term.

Good summaryWhat do you think GGP will get taken out at? Is there a bag to be made here in your opinion? I'm not interested in holding SVE till it finds another GGP to be honest

I haven't really got an exit price in mind to be honest. I'm assuming the end game with GGP will be an all cash bid from Newcrest. SVE's stated aim has always been to return up to 50% of such a cash windfall to holders by means of a special dividend. SVE would then start investing in other companies looking for the next GGP; they've always admitted that the strike rate for finding a share that would offer such big returns is about 1 in 20. However, just consider that 50m of the 85m shares in GGP they own were acquired by exercising warrants at 0.2p. At today's 8.7p that's a 4200% return!!

With GGP at 8.7p, NAV/share is 14.4p. You can get a 40%+ discount buying into SVE today. If I'm right, you might get most of your initial investment back as a special dividend and then everything else is free carried.
