Thanks Zedder. I bought in at 7.4p then had a horrible thought that I'd overlooked something stupid - as is my wont.

I think it is down to liquidity (poor)
spread (large) and ignorance of the play.

As you point out, just a crazy discount. SVE hold 82m GGP shares and 17.5m AAU. Between just those 2 holdings that's worth £7.6m.However Mkt Cap based on 7.25p mid is £4.13m.NAV/share is 14.1p!

What's going on here? SVE's GGP shares currently worth c.£6.7m vs SVE's mkt cap of £4.22m at 7.4p?

What's the problem exactly?

They normally invest between £25 and £50k, with £100k being a rare exception, so I do think it is an investment decision especially as the Directors took shares in lieu of cash payments recently.

Looks like they needed cash. Not really an
investment decision sized move.

I wonder if this some sort of message to the market as well, basically saying that you keep applying a large discount to NAV presumably on the basis of share liquidity, yet we've sold 3m of 85m GGP and you haven't even noticed!

Would have raised £225k if they achieved 7.5p average.

Interesting RNS ref GGP. Not because of the detail ref GGP which we all know but because they have top-sliced 3m shares recently taking their holding down to 82m from 85m.

Actually I can only see ggp going a lot higher.

Nice spread and nice discount to NAV. With GGP at 8.3p the NAV is 13.8p/share.

Confirmation today that AAU have paid off all the debt from opening the first mine. Roll on the second one. Definite 5p+ for AAU in my mind now.

The bid is for a mine in Ecuador. The latest drilling results at Havieron (now 9 rigs there) are very good. See:

Speculation over at the GGP forum that
GGP will be suspended if there is a bid
for them, but you will still be able to
deal in SVE.

Hopefully we get to see the latest drilling results while we're waiting for the bid.

Let's hope this means NCM are about to bid for GGP!

I had an order in for £10,000 worth,
which would have been about 125,000.
Mostly filled, 100,000. It's a new one
on me, having an order met after hours.
Happened Tuesday too, but only 10k that
time, £800 worth, out of a £10,000 ask.
Both times the buy price was ~8.5 all
day, then met my 8p limit after hours.
Dealing on IG. Hope it doesn't mean
some market maker got nervous.

That may well be. Hopefully even if GGP goes down a penny or 2 we will stay pretty static here as there is already a good discount priced in.

I may buy more tomorrow but not sure which way Ggp will go after the Newcrest quarterly update. A lot of potential good news may possibly be already built into the price. The sell on news briggade might be in force and could take some profits off the table.

That was me. Up to 50% of any special dividend would be distributed to shareholders.

Agree. I believe someone posted that the
Starvest management are committed to at
least partial distribution of proceeds of
GGP takeover.

Well, I decided rightly or wrongly to sell all my shares in GGP today and buy more of these. I bought at 8.25p but I've calculated that for each share I buy in SVE I am buying approximately 1.6 shares in GGP but also get all their other holdings thrown in. The only problem is this share is not as liquid as GBP and has a larger spread. However if you take the view that GGP will be bought out at some point in the near future by Newcrest Mining then I feel that buying SVE is a no brainer as it's likely that SVE will probably distribute proceeds as a special dividend. I may be wrong but it's one possible scenario.
