Once details of the promised 8p/share special div (on top of the 0.5p/sh ord div) come out theses shares will get loads of press & start to really fly - especially if they get the details out today and therefore make the influential weekend press.

As said above, the investors chronical rates this stock & will almost certain reiterare its BUY recommendation next week.

Opening up stamps/collections etc as alternative investment via IFA's will open a whole new market to people with money to invest but no real interest in collecting.

As the song says, "the only way is up"

Anyone expecting the announcement today? They did say plans would be announced on 30th, but it just seems like we've had only half of the announcement.

I know Kael, it's true. But what a bonus on top of tremendous growth! This must be one of the strongest reliable investments on the market today.

Superb results.
I particularly like 10M hits a month on the internet & tie ups with IFA's so that they sell stamps as an alternative investment.

Cheers Nurdin! :)

Any accountants out there ? Why is the stamp stock valued at cost ?

Whoops! Sorry guys, it's too early for arithmetic for me. Took the 3.61 as H2. So, yes, it's 4.4 on a flat H2. But we must factor in some growth when eps is 84% up, so can expect much more. As Nurdin says, if we get the same ratio between the halves, plus some growth from growing internet use, Fairs etc, we can reasonably expect at least 7p eps by end. Or 175p on a pe of 25. That will do nicely.

We know H2 has got off to a good start as SGI did the courtesy of telling everyone in their interims! The fact that sales are up 31% and profit is up 86% in the quietest time of the year, is fantastic. Makes you wonder what the buisness is like in the busiest time of year!

I think 7p WJC as argued aboved...
nurdin

Not quite. EPS of 3.61p was for the whole year last year, so if H2 were flat, they would make 4.4p for the year. Of course, H2 is going to be considerably better and I'd reckon they'll easily improve H2 by the 1p needed to beat forecasts (particularly with the share buy back as well). I'd guess upgrades to 5.5-6.0p EPS will be in order.

Don Carter..last year H1 came in at 0.93p H2 at 2.56p ..ie a ratio of 2.75
Suggests H2 should come in atleast 4.75p bringing the total to 6.5p this year
Apply the internet momentum and the impact of world stamp exhibitions coming up in H2 and I expect minimum eps of 7p for the full year..
pe of 13 for the full year at current price..ignoring the special divi
