30/7/2004 08:24 | Once details of the promised 8p/share special div (on top of the 0.5p/sh ord div) come out theses shares will get loads of press & start to really fly - especially if they get the details out today and therefore make the influential weekend press. As said above, the investors chronical rates this stock & will almost certain reiterare its BUY recommendation next week. Opening up stamps/collections etc as alternative investment via IFA's will open a whole new market to people with money to invest but no real interest in collecting. 30/7/2004 08:18 | Anyone expecting the announcement today? They did say plans would be announced on 30th, but it just seems like we've had only half of the announcement. | ![]() kael
30/7/2004 08:17 | Nice AFX headline, what about the special divi though !!! | ukhawk
30/7/2004 08:06 | I know Kael, it's true. But what a bonus on top of tremendous growth! This must be one of the strongest reliable investments on the market today. | ![]() don carter
30/7/2004 08:04 | Wait till the press report these tomorrow..and th weekend . IC tipped them recently and should give them a brilliant write up next Friday:o) | ![]() nurdin
30/7/2004 08:04 | Superb results. I particularly like 10M hits a month on the internet & tie ups with IFA's so that they sell stamps as an alternative investment. Cheers Nurdin! :) C | cordone
30/7/2004 07:56 | Looks like its going up then today ;) Tell you what though, SGI has a way of keeping the suspense up - we still dont know when the divi is getting paid. | ![]() kael
30/7/2004 07:50 | Hmmm - so I was not the only one that couldn't sleep for waiting for these results then eh??????????? Absolutely brilliant !!! Now I can go and get a bit of kip before returning to see how far the price has moved. Cheers all :>)))(specially Nurdin who made the original post that alerted me to this one, last January) Tom | ![]() tom.muir
30/7/2004 07:50 | Any accountants out there ? Why is the stamp stock valued at cost ? ( I know we discussed this a while back ) | ukhawk
30/7/2004 07:49 | Whoops! Sorry guys, it's too early for arithmetic for me. Took the 3.61 as H2. So, yes, it's 4.4 on a flat H2. But we must factor in some growth when eps is 84% up, so can expect much more. As Nurdin says, if we get the same ratio between the halves, plus some growth from growing internet use, Fairs etc, we can reasonably expect at least 7p eps by end. Or 175p on a pe of 25. That will do nicely. Don | ![]() don carter
30/7/2004 07:47 | We know H2 has got off to a good start as SGI did the courtesy of telling everyone in their interims! The fact that sales are up 31% and profit is up 86% in the quietest time of the year, is fantastic. Makes you wonder what the buisness is like in the busiest time of year! | ![]() kael
30/7/2004 07:42 | I think 7p WJC as argued aboved... | ![]() nurdin
30/7/2004 07:40 | Not quite. EPS of 3.61p was for the whole year last year, so if H2 were flat, they would make 4.4p for the year. Of course, H2 is going to be considerably better and I'd reckon they'll easily improve H2 by the 1p needed to beat forecasts (particularly with the share buy back as well). I'd guess upgrades to 5.5-6.0p EPS will be in order. | ![]() wjccghcc
30/7/2004 07:39 | The potential here is huge !!! World famous brand with only 1% of world market ?! Kael, just threw my cuppa over the keyboard !!! | ukhawk
30/7/2004 07:39 | Don Carter..last year H1 came in at 0.93p H2 at 2.56p ..ie a ratio of 2.75 Suggests H2 should come in atleast 4.75p bringing the total to 6.5p this year Apply the internet momentum and the impact of world stamp exhibitions coming up in H2 and I expect minimum eps of 7p for the full year.. pe of 13 for the full year at current price..ignoring the special divi | ![]() nurdin |
