10/2/2004 14:56 | 6th March last year. Are the Finals flagged, or do they just spring them on shareholders some time in early March? :0) | ![]() taurusthebear
10/2/2004 13:27 | ..and thats not even considering any bolt on acquisitions they may make...heres what they said at the ineterims: ''At 30 June 2003, our cash position was just over #1 million, which shows clearly our conversion of profit into real cash. We are currently considering acquisitions that support our future strategy and reviewing the Group's tax structure with a view to enabling the payment of dividends to our shareholders in the future...'' | ![]() nurdin
10/2/2004 13:16 | All the balnce sheet stuff is a bonus imo. Look at the earnings growth over the past 3 years: -0.6p, -0.24p, 1.94p, 3.3p forecast and stated as met by the company. The 5.7p estimate for next year means these are on a forward PE of 11 that looks very beatable the way this company is growing. 72% earnings growth on a PE of 11 is dirt cheap. 72% compound over 3 years grows your money 5 times. 10/2/2004 13:13 | errr..I expects 04 eps to go well past 6p!They are making copious cash whichever you look at it... | ![]() nurdin
10/2/2004 13:11 | Many thanks nurdin. Actually for the year underway (Dec 04.), I'd expect them to generate even more cash with an EPS of 5.7 or above. Oh happy days! Mo. | ![]() mo123
10/2/2004 13:00 | Mo..its the cash inflow from the operating activities that determines the final cash balance. The eps of 3.3p share reflects the profits after tax. Then they have to pay divis, creditors, take on some depreciation charges and consider returns on investments., etc.At interims they had net cash inflow of £339k on eps of 1.19p.Applying simple scaling we would expect eps of 3.3p to genearte cash of £940k..but I could be miles out!Cash balance then would swell to close to £2m..but as i said this is a pure guesstimate. | ![]() nurdin
10/2/2004 12:47 | Still the problem is to make a solid breakout over 60p | ![]() clocktower
10/2/2004 12:42 | nurdin-thanks. | ![]() p@
10/2/2004 12:37 | nurdin is this approximately correct. SGI will make EPS of 3.3p and there are 24.37M shares. This will give them an extra £800K cashpile, taking total cash to £1.84M. This equals 7.5p per share in cash. Also if PRVD get to around $28 this year that equals 14p. Giving us a grand total of 21.5p in cash or equivalent by end of the year. | ![]() mo123
10/2/2004 12:33 | yes they do... | ![]() nurdin

09/2/2004 13:14 | punched in a sell on the 15 second countdown just for fun and the market was offering to buy my shares at 59p (which I ain't selling) so it looks like it is going up again soon. Regards , Moneybags | ![]() moneybags
09/2/2004 10:06 | Someones buying in the background...hope to see these go past 60p soon. | ![]() nurdin
08/2/2004 21:19 | Excellent find Mo! Seems SGI need to do some homework regarding the size of their own market.I took the numbers from the following statement issued recently: ''At a time when interest rates and inflation are low and many investors have lost confidence with traditional stock market based investments, there has been a surge of interest in stamps as an alternative investment. Attention has been fuelled by the long term stability of the market, the solid collector base - estimated to number some 30 million worldwide - and the fact that stamps offer a portability superior to other potential alternative investments. Rising stamp prices and recent coverage in the financial press have resulted in a significant increase in enquiries to the Stanley Gibbons Rare Stamp Portfolio Management service from both collectors and non collectors alike.'' Also there are 18m collectors in China and the numbers are growing! | ![]() nurdin
08/2/2004 20:00 | nurdin found this on another site. Since the first postage stamp was issued by Great Britain in 1840, interest among collectors and investors has expanded internationally. Today there are over 22 million collectors in the United States alone. All serious collectors and investors are interested in the same high-quality, virtually frozen supply of the truly rare stamps (generally including those stamps issued by the U.S. government prior to 1935). It is important to understand the supply of investment quality stamps is fixed, limited, and simply cannot grow to meet ever increasing demand. This basic economic principle is the controlling force that creates the outstanding growth and extraordinary safety of rare stamps for investment. Re your post 357 which says 30M collectors worldwide. Notch that figure up a tad. :0) | ![]() mo123
08/2/2004 17:49 | Interesting stuff - gonna speak to the international anaylst at work tomorrow and see what he thinks of PRVD and where it should go. | daza75
08/2/2004 17:35 | daza Just looking through the posts there are 2 things I should have mentioned after PRVD's results. 1. They are diversifying into the holiday market. 2. With the sites for fruit and meat only just up and running. They see good potential from their existing customer base ( circa 2.6M) placing orders for the new products. (will have a look at CSV. cheers Mo) | ![]() mo123 |
