26/1/2004 07:03 | Dont know if anyone watched the Antiques Roadshow yesterday evening, but a good proportion of discussion towards the end was on buying 'collectables' on the internet.Seems to me that the on-line market for antiques and other collectables is growing fast globally which should underpin SGIs trading statement come the results time... Cordone..not a bad strategy to wait and see the price movement before buying. However I for one dont bother with 1-2 penny savings if I like a stock and am convinced of their fundamentals and growth potential...but if you can get a lower price then so much the better clearly. | ![]() nurdin
25/1/2004 22:34 | Thanks CR I'll take your advice on board. 50p would be a buy in price that I'd be happy with, I'll be ready & waiting to see how these open in the morning. For what it's worth I think the market will remain fairly bullish. A number of individuals I know are moving away from property & back into equities, albeit somewhat cautiously. Cordone | cordone
25/1/2004 22:23 | Thanks cordone. Being I'm already in there I'd say wait for a pull back. My guess is there are a number of buyers waiting in the wings to get 50p if they see it. I'll try to pre-empt them if I see 50.5p or 51p myself but you need to make your own trading decision. I think the next leg up will go to 60p or above. I think there's a lot more in these (if the market stays bullish). imo. CR | ![]() cockneyrebel
25/1/2004 21:32 | Hi Nurdin, Cr et al I'm impressed with what I've read about SGI and equally impressed with the high quality of some of the postings on this thread. Given the meteoric recent rise here do you think it's perhaps too late for a newcomer like myself to benefit buying them now or has the boat passed me by? Or should I even wait for a pullback? BTW congrats to CR for your excellent 'One bagger'thread - more power to your elbow!! Cordone | cordone
23/1/2004 21:25 | prvd @ 19.51 up 6%. sgi will move up on monday! | ![]() daza70
23/1/2004 18:36 | That stake alone is worth 10p a share! | ![]() nurdin
23/1/2004 18:33 | was just going to post that lol..well done.£2.5m worth now | ![]() nurdin
23/1/2004 18:31 | PRVD up over 5% to highest level. SGI stake incresing all the time!! looks good for next week with the slight pullback today. Gut feeling 60p will be achieved in the next week and a half!! | ![]() daza70
23/1/2004 18:02 | you may well be right CR..I havent analysed trades...I dont normally.Got a feeling most of the sellers exited yesterday and today..so hopefully we will see good action next week | ![]() nurdin
23/1/2004 17:30 | I've looked at yesterday and the rise was well in excess of the volume of net buys when you compare how little the stock fell today on what looks like 200K sells at least. My guess is that there's a big buyer and the order is still being filled. Think we'll see another big rise next week, enough to fill their buy order if there isn't many sellers. 23/1/2004 17:26 | Guess people woke up to the stock and started buying? Very few stocks around now trading on low multiples and expected to show stellar eps growth going forward. | ![]() nurdin
23/1/2004 17:21 | nurdin.... Any thoughts on what caused such a big rise yesterday? Still keeping an eye on SGI after the mistake I made yesterday. | ![]() gateside
23/1/2004 16:59 | Looked like a 50K T buy at the close nurdin. PRVD looking good to rise to $20 soon. Next big jump, however, may not be until mid Feb when T+10 brigade arrive. | ![]() mo123
23/1/2004 16:54 | well not too bad a day considering we had 20% rise yesterday. Some big trades too today...would like to think atlease one of them was a buy... | ![]() nurdin
23/1/2004 12:17 | Difficult to call that one dw...atleast there hasnt been a huge price impact either way.. | ![]() nurdin
23/1/2004 12:04 | Any views on the 100K.? I believe it to be a buy. but what are your thoughts. | dwnash
23/1/2004 11:14 | Another nice little dip fo the watchers to gobble up imo. Watch the little beggar fly when they pile in for the next leg up :-) CR | ![]() cockneyrebel
23/1/2004 10:56 | yes you maybe right kael..dont blame them.Leaves way clear for a strong rise as newcomers appreciate the potential.. | ![]() nurdin
23/1/2004 10:54 | nurdin, think a lot of long term holders sold on the rise yesterday 20% is some rise... as the old adage goes, buy into weakness, sell into strentgh. Think we have quite a few new holders to support the price. | ![]() kael
23/1/2004 10:49 | some profit taking but not much...bodes well as we approach the results time! | ![]() nurdin
22/1/2004 22:29 | Sorry, I didn't mean to sound conceited, after reading some of your posts I can see that you have more knowledge than me. Cheers mate! | ![]() cambium
22/1/2004 22:21 | cambium...thanks, after todays mistake, I'm hungry for success, so I'll take a look at MPH, and of course I'll do my own research :-) | ![]() gateside
22/1/2004 22:12 | Gateside, Have a look at MPH, the BB says it all! DYOR though | ![]() cambium
22/1/2004 21:30 | nurdin...thanks again I'm sure SGI are still a good buy, but I'm ready to look around at others for a while. I have bought some MBY, and have recently discovered CR's 100% thread... excellent stuff. I love low risk growth shares, and have done very well last year in, OKR, MYW, FFY, THT, (Ottakars, Merrydown, Fyffes and Thorntons) and am always on the hunt for new shares. If I come across any gems I'll post them on the 100% board! All the Best | ![]() gateside |
