If another 15m shares are taken off the market, I think that the 24% holding gets them to around the compulsory takeover? Do you think they'll take it private?

Something brewing here?

When do the buybacks end? Or have they already ended?

16m shares (£5M) or 10% of total outstanding shares purchased and cancelled. The average price of 31p which I wouldn't call very successful only for Fidelity and Shroders as they were the biggest sellers and now we sit at 23p.
I expect another buyback soon if we keep floating around current level.

I bought some prior to the update expecting a more positive outlook. I sold today for a loss as I can find a better place than this for the money. Never had much luck with this one, not sure why I keep coming back to it as not much seems to change and now they have more or less said nothing great is happening in 2024. They rarely put out much news so I could see this staying around this level for the next 2 years. Good luck to those sticking with it.

So in fact a classic AIM "lifestyle" company then? Cd be.

I like @dealy's point but as per my #3426 above, why *can't* they (or won't they) raise prices/markup? The 2022 AR iirc makes some reference to seeing if the more added-value sectors of the business can be expanded but why weren't they doing that years ago? (Cynical answer: because the profitability was maintained by not paying minimum wage, hence the accounts revisions and share price crash about 4-5 yrs ago; see previous postings this month and way back).

I can't help but feel there must be visibly or otherwise an enormous available un/semi-skilled labour supply which is the point (that quote I took from the 2022 AR says as much imo) and that DT piece above about Home Office letting undocumented migrants/refugees/asylum seekers work "officially" (even in care and construction?!) seems to be implicated, somewhere, in the explanation although presumably not in itself a particularly material part.

Year on year trading in line with expectations, I think they should raise their expectations no improvement 4th year since they both are in charge only issued themselves 9m shares in bonuses and when time will come will say it was as expected and will take them shares out… all agencies not doing perfect, but they are not at the all time lows…
They should set targets and if not achieved they should sacrifice their salaries and bonuses not issuing more and more every year.
