I am tempted to invite Sprue and our new CEO to this event but not made a final decision yet. Mark Slater is a great speaker and some of you may fancy coming...

I would reiterate Davidosh & The Big Fella's comments. Most investors invested in Sprue are here due to the fundamental position of the company.

I personally don't give a fig if it rises or retraces 10-15% as I'm confident in calibre of management & staff; potential for product growth; established iP & move into the likes of assisted healthcare. I could go on & my Nov write-up provides what I consider to be the investment case over the next few years.

May I respectively suggest that if you wish to discuss or post technical analysis that you create a seperate thread as I don't believe there is an appetite for that discussion here. I'm not saying that it doesn't have its place, but from comments off-board I know that many such as myself use this board as reference point for company specific info.

Kind regards,
GHF

Clearly you have a different investment strategy to most on here. I have been invested here for 8 years so I am only interested in the companies performance and not short term movements that may or may not be attributed to a chartists viewpoint.
I am very hopeful the company can continue strong growth certainly for the next 2/3 years. It may drop 10% or rise 10% in the next few weeks , but over the next couple of years I would hope it will double. That is my timeline.

davidosh - here's the chart. Appreciate sensible views as to where the price is going over the next few days/weeks.

macarre....How long have you held Sprue and can you point to any postings showing specific company research rather than a hunch about share price direction ?

I think short postings saying 'Looking at the chart I suspect a retracement is possible over next few days. Who knows...' just tends to wind up long term research minded posters and they use the filter button which gets you nowhere.

Mg1982 - if you've been following SPRP since at least Oct-14 you probably know that nothing goes up in a straight line. Perhaps you want to share some of your wisdom with us, instead of making exagerated / vague claims.

Saying the same thing about all stocks???? Where did you get this from mate???? I'm looking at the chart here and seeing that share price is struggling to break through resistance. From observing other good stocks this is often followed by a retracement before share price resumes its uptrend. I don' have a crystal ball to say what's going to happen or not. Just stating my opinion about a factor I'm taking into account in my decision making. Up to each investor to decide whethet this is useful to them. Just for the records SPRP is one of my 5 top picks for 2015.

Macarre,

I see that you are going on various BB's and saying the same thing about all stocks. If you have no value to add I suggest you do some research before posting.

thanks

Surprised that the news of a new CEO didn't warrant one single post or comment on the thread.

Well, congratulations on your appointment Neil! You must be held in high regard by GW, NR & JG to gain the position.

Kind regards,

Thanks GHF for the updates. I would have missed the SONA update if it wasn't for you so please update us with updates when they come along.

Many thanks

Forgot to mention...header also updated.

Looking back through MY notes I'd expect the £10.3m operating profit for 2014 (mentioned in the latest trading update) to fall to the bottom line in its entirety & translate into EPS c.20p for the year gone...that equates to PER 16.7 for 2014.

Potential for upgrades to 2015 forecasts which appear to be currently under review & I'd expect timed to coincide with FY results in April 2015.

Regards,
GHF

From the recent trading update you will be aware that Sprue have released their SONA product range. There is a considerable market opportunity here which is possibly in the region of c.£60m-70m. EI Electronics are the leaders in mains alarms with c.65% share versus a 10-15% share for Sprue who only had a battery operated version prior to them inheriting the tired BRK main product via the Jarden Distribution Agreement.

They have spent over 3 years & considerable monies in developing SONA which incorporates their award winning Thermoptek & wi-safe technology & which appears the most advanced in the market.

Apparently it only costs 74p over 10 years to run!!!

More details here

Gnnmartin,The Nov Trading Update only had exceptionals of £0.5m (AIM costs), for some reason they didn't include the other £0.6m in the Nov TU, but now their included.DD

DiscoDave, I'm not sure where you get the 1.1m up from 0.5m: I'm guessing and may be missing your point. The exceptional costs were 0.5m (cost of moving to AIM), plus 0.4m (cost of defending against takeover attempt), plus 0.2m share based payment. I'm not sure what the last is, so not sure why it is an exceptional cost as opposed to a non-exceptional cost settled in an exceptional way.

I think people underestimate the changes in product mix ( home grown v Jarden ) and the lessening distribution fee paid out to them. I quite understand the reaction to today's RNS, however my instinct has been born out with this update - to really read this share's trajectory will come from updates in the middle of the year.

I think the wi if products will work particularly well for the client base it is aimed at. The products will sell is my strong suspicion,( currently sat in the DIY Stores ).

Apologies that my first sentence was poorly worded, I missed out the "apart from" the "expects results ahead of market expectations" which was positive and the part of the statements that I liked.

Will edit that sentence.
